Flow-chemiluminescence: a growing modality of pharmaceutical analysis.
2001
The present article deals with a review of the applications of the chemiluminescence to pharmaceutical analyses by using continuous-flow assemblies. A comprehensive study on the fundamentals of the chemiluminescence is also included.
Protocol for development of various plants leaves extract in single-pot synthesis of metal nanoparticles
2012
This article is aimed to extend a simple protocol for preparation of various plant leaves extract and their application to green synthesis of the metallic nanoparticles. Five plant leaves extract showed mild reduction and stabilization ability for silver and gold nanoparticles (AgNPs and AuNPs) at room temperature. The particle size range varied from 25 to 42 nm and 21 to 47 nm for AgNPs and AuNPs, respectively. Plant leaves extract-mediated nanoparticles were characterized to confirm the shape, size, crystallinity, and content using different spectroscopic investigations. Differences in stability of nanoparticles at different pH were also measured by zeta potential.

Effect of pH and nitrite concentration on nitrite oxidation rate
2011
The effect of pH and nitrite concentration on the activity of the nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB) in an activated sludge reactor has been determined by means of laboratory batch experiments based on respirometric techniques. The bacterial activity was measured at different pH and at different total nitrite concentrations (TNO 2). The experimental results showed that the nitrite oxidation rate (NOR) depends on the TNO 2 concentration independently of the free nitrous acid (FNA) concentration, so FNA cannot be considered as the real substrate for NOB. NOB were strongly affected by low pH values (no activity was detected at pH 6.5) but no inhibition was observed at high pH values (activity wa…
Wine Oxidation and the Role of Cork
2009
The present review aims to show the state of the art of oxidation mechanisms occurring especially in white wines by taking into account knowledge from different fields in relation to the subject. It is therefore divided into three main parts. First, the mechanisms of oxidation relevant to white wine are discussed in the light of recent scientific literature. Next, the phenomenon of oxygen solubility in wine during the winemaking process, and in particular during bottling is stated theoretically as well as practically. Finally, the aspect of wine conservation after bottling is examined with respect to mass transfers which may occur through the closure, with a special emphasis on cork. Curren…

ChemInform Abstract: Electroorganic Synthesis of Nitriles via a Halogen-Free Domino Oxidation-Reduction Sequence.
2016
A direct electroorganic sequence yielding nitriles from oximes in undivided cells is reported. Despite the fact that intermediate nitrile oxides might be formed, the method is viable to prepare benzonitriles without substituents ortho to the aldoxime moiety. This constant current method is easy to perform for a broad scope of substrates and employs common electrodes, such as graphite and lead.
Exercise causes blood glutathione oxidation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: prevention by O2 therapy
1996
Viña, José, Emilio Servera, Miguel Asensi, Juan Sastre, Federico V. Pallardó, José A. Ferrero, JoséGarcı́a-de-la-Asunción, Vicente Antón, and Julio Marı́n. Exercise causes blood glutathione oxidation in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: prevention by O2therapy. J. Appl. Physiol. 81(5): 2199–2202, 1996.—The aim of the present study was to determine whether glutathione oxidation occurs in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients who perform exercise and whether this could be prevented. Blood glutathione red-ox ratio [oxidized-to-reduced glutathione (GSSG/GSH)] was significantly increased when patients performed exercise for a short period of time until exhaustion. Their res…
