Effect of sulfur dioxide on mucociliary activity and ciliary beat frequency in guinea pig trachea
1994
The effects of 30 min exposure to sulfur dioxide on mucociliary activity (MCA) and ciliary beat frequency (CBF) were studied in 31 guinea pig tracheas. MCA was measured by recording the light reflected from ciliated mucous membranes using an infrared bar code reader. CBF of single ciliated cells obtained by brushing was measured with phase-contrast microscopy. Each tracheal sample was exposed to SO2 at concentrations ranging from 2.5 to 12.5 ppm, or to air for control purposes. MCA and CBF were measured before and immediately after gas exposure. A reduction in mean MCA of 63% (P = 0.0007) and statistically insignificant changes in CBF (P > 0.05) were recorded at concentrations of 2.5 PPM SO…
Influence of the pH on the synthesis of reduced graphene oxide under hydrothermal conditions
2012
Here we describe the important role played by the pH on the morphology and structure of the reduced graphite oxide (rGO) samples obtained by hydrothermal treatment of the previously prepared GO. The nature of the resulting samples has been studied on the basis of a complete battery of experimental techniques.
Metal Oxides for Rechargeable Batteries Energy Applications
2020
Nearly three decades of significant academic and commercialization progress, appreciations have to be credited for Li+ ion-based rechargeable secondary batteries, which conquered the entire world. The Li+ ion batteries dictate the consumer battery market and are considered crucial for the practical realization of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and electric vehicles (EVs). Recently, post-lithium–ion batteries, particularly Na, K, Mg, and Zn, and Al–ion batteries have also been intensively explored for various energy storage tenders due to their natural abundance, low cost, and environmental safety of these materials. The utilization of metal oxides…
X-Ray crystallographic and computational study on uranyl-salophen complexes bearing nitro groups.
2017
In the solid state, salophen–UO2 complexes bearing one, two, or three NO2 groups lack the pronounced ligand curvature that represents a structural hallmark for this class of compounds. A detailed structural study based on single-crystal X-ray crystallography and computational methods, comprising molecular dynamics, gas-phase Hartree Fock, and DFT calculations, was carried out to investigate the coordination properties of the uranyl cation.
Reaktionen an Aluminiumoxiden. 3. Mitt.: Umsetzungen von Propanal und Benzaldehyd an Aluminiumoxid
1973
Reactions on Alumina Oxides The reactions of propanal and benzaldehyde on various alumina oxides were investigated under different conditions. The resulting products were identified by synthesized compounds and TLC and GLC.
Photocatalytic oxidation mechanism of benzonitrile in aqueous suspensions of titanium dioxide
2007
Abstract The photocatalytic oxidation of benzonitrile was carried out in aqueous suspensions (pH 11) of commercial polycrystalline TiO 2 (Merck and Degussa P25) irradiated by ultraviolet light. The rate of decomposition was dependent on the concentration of benzonitrile and followed a pseudo-first order kinetics. The complete mineralization of a 0.70 mM benzonitrile solution was achieved in ca. 8 h by using TiO 2 Degussa P25, whereas the substrate was only partially mineralized even after 14 h of irradiation in the presence of TiO 2 Merck. The final oxidation products were carbonate and nitrate. The appearance and the evolution of organic and inorganic intermediate species were also investi…
1-Benzyl-1H-benzotriazole 3-oxide monohydrate
2012
In the title hydrate, C13H11N3O·H2O, the benzotriazole ring system is planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.007 Å) and is almost orthogonal to the phenyl ring to which it is linked by a methylene group, forming a dihedral angle of 81.87 (15)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked into chains along [001] by O—H...O hydrogen bonds. The chains are consolidated into a three-dimensional architecture by C—H...O, C—H...π and π–π [centroid–centroid distance between the five- and six-membered rings of the benzotriazole ring system = 3.595 (3) Å] interactions.
1-Mesitylmethyl-1Hbenzotriazole 3-oxide.
2010
In the title compound, C16H17N3O, the benzotriazole ring forms a dihedral angle of 77.25 (6)° with the phenyl ring. The benzotriazole ring is essentially planar with a maximum deviation of 0.012 (19) Å. Weak intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonds form R22(10) motifs. The crystal packing is consolidated by π—π interactions with centroid–centroid distances of 3.5994 (12) Å together with very weak C—H...π interactions.
1-Benzyl-1H-benzotriazole 3-oxide-1-hy-droxy-1H-benzotriazole (1/1).
2012
In the title compound, C6H5N3O·C13H11N3O, the benzotriazole ring system in the 1-benzyl-1H-benzotriazole 3-oxide (A) molecule is close to being planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.011 Å); its mean plane forms a dihedral angle of 67.56 (7)° with that of the attached phenyl ring. The benzotriazole ring system in the 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (B) molecule is also close to being planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.010 Å). In the crystal, weak C—H...O and C—H...π interactions are present. TheAandBmolecules are linked by an O—H...N hydrogen bond.
Carbon nanotube supported aluminum porphyrin-imidazolium bromide crosslinked copolymer
2022
The increased awareness of the catastrophic consequences caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere has generated a large mobilization aimed at CO2 mitigation. Herein, in the spirit of the transformation of a waste as CO2 into value added products, we propose an efficient preparation of two different hybrid systems based on aluminum chloride tetrastyrylporphyrin (TSP-Al-Cl) and 1,4-butanediyl-3,3′-bis-1-vinylimidazolium dibromide copolymerized in the presence (MWCNT-TSP-AlCl-imi) and in absence (TSP-AlCl-imi) of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for the CO2 utilization in the synthesis of cyclic carbonates. The so-prepared materials have been thoroughly characte…
