This article has as its goal to analyze the dramatic text «Elsa Schneider» (1987), by Sergi Belbel, starting from the concept of irony of contrast between text and context of communication. This ironic resource is conveyed through the different composition of the three sequences of monologues in which the work is structured. With this resource the author offers an approach to a metadiscursive subject matter which revolves around scenic communication and theatrical genres.

The reception of Jesús Moncada’s work at the beginning of his literary career was determined by the debate between «rural novel» and «urban novel», up to the point of directing its reading towards an elegiac dimension, at the expense of other distinctive traits of greater importance. In this sense, Moncada’s work has been understood, in an almost exclusive way, as a literary recording of the collective memory. The author of this article analyzes the field of images of irony, starting from some Douglas C. Muecke’s works and some other personal analyses developed in «Poétique de l’ironie». He questions himself about the tension that exists between a possible archetypal image of irony, which would provide a vertical relationship of power, and its most recent images, which would highlight the fundamental ambiguity of the phenomenon. RESUMEN: En nuestro articulo nos centramos en el uso idiomatico del adjetivo espanol menudo(s)/menuda(s). Este uso es el resultado de un proceso de gramaticalizacion. El adjetivo menudo literalmente significa "pequeno", pero en su uso idiomatico funciona como un intensificador, que enfatiza prototipicamente la cantidad o la cualidad. Asi, una expresion como iMenudo frio hace! es paralela a la oracion Hace mucho frio, pero la construccion con menudo implica un enfasis mayor, una presencia mas destacada de la subjetividad del hablante. La ausencia de tratados completos sobre silvicultura en la España del siglo xviii se suplió en parte con traducciones. El botánico Casimiro Gómez Ortega publicó en 1773 la traducción de la obra del agrónomo Duhamel du Monceau Des semis et plantations des bois (1760). En este artículo, estudiaremos 19 términos propios de esta disciplina desde un punto de vista lexicográfico comparando las definiciones en distintos diccionarios y en el glosario incluido en la obra origen y en la traducción. [EN] Since the point of view of Cognitive Linguistics, any linguistic form has its own menaing, therfore, any change in the form implies a change in its meaning. Given that, the main goal of this contribution is to systematize the meaning differenes among certain type of deverbal nouns. They share the same matrix verb, but they differ in their form, either because they use a different suffix or because they follow different derivational process.

In Latvian and Estonian existential clauses, the subject’s case form alternates between nominative vs. genitive (in Latvian) and nominative vs. partitive (in Estonian). This article is a study of the case-alternation systems of existential clauses and related clause types, locative and possessive clauses in these languages.
