Uusliberalismi muuttaa naisten töitä julkisella sektorilla
2016
2013
Liminaalitila on antropologiassa määritelty välitilaksi, kynnyksellä olemiseksi. Liminaalisuus on nykypäivän työelämälle ominainen piirre, joka voi näyttäytyä kaaoksena, mutta myös uutta luovana muutosvaiheena.
Analysis of the effects of K-RasG12V and K-RasG13D on the cell cycle
2012
p21 Ras is small protein with GTPase activity that regulates proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis in all cell types. The three major isoforms of Ras (H-, K- and N-Ras) differing only for the last 24 aminoacids have different post-translational modifications that lead to localization in diverse plasma membrane microdomains and downstream activation of alternative pathways of signal transduction. This might explain, at least in part, the different biological effects of the Ras isoforms in the cells. Ras mutations are a common event in several tumours and in almost all cases they are point mutations in codons 12 or 13, and rarely in codon 61. These mutations lead to a constitutively ac…
Differential effects of Ha-RasG12V, Ki-RasG12V and Ki-RasG13D on cell proliferation
2012
Although differing only for the last 24 aminoacids, the three major isoforms of p21 Ras (Ha-, Ki- and N –Ras) can trigger alternative pathways of signal transduction, at least in part as a consequence of different post-translational modifications and subcellular localization. Ras mutations are a common event in tumorigenesis. In colorectal carcinomas (CRCs) the mutations affect almost exclusively Ki-Ras, while Ha-Ras mutations are mostly found in bladder carcinomas and N-Ras mutations in leukemia cells. In almost all cases, the genetic alteration is a point mutation in codons 12 or 13, and less frequently in codon 61. By affecting the GTPase activity of the protein, they always lead to a co…

Savstarpējo aizdevumu (peer-to-peer lending) platformu darbības regulējuma problemātika Latvijā.
2021
Finanšu tehnoloģiju straujā attīstība radījusi bezprecedenta situāciju, kurā ieguldījumi finanšu instrumentos pieejami ikvienam – nepieciešama vien pieeja internetam un nedaudz naudas. Līdzīgi lielai daļai Eiropas valstu Latvija uz jaunā koncepta finanšu pakalpojumiem nav spējusi reaģēt operatīvi - Latvijas jurisdikcijā pēdējo piecu gadu laikā reģistrēts liels skaits kolektīvās finansēšanas platformu, kas bez atbilstošas licences interesentiem sniedz ieguldījumu pakalpojumus. Analizējot spēkā esošos normatīvos aktus un pētot Latvijas savstarpējo aizdevumu platformu tirgu, autore raksturo neviennozīmīgos savstarpējo aizdevumu platformu darbības juridiskos aspektus, kā arī skaidro, salīdzina …

Heterogeneity within and between primary colorectal carcinomas and matched metastases as revealed by analysis of Ki-ras and p53 mutations
2004
Analysis of the genetic status of Ki-ras and p53 in primary colorectal carcinomas and matched colorectal liver metastasis from 30 patients reveals an overall heterogeneity both within and between the two tumoral tissues. Both genes were found mutated with a similar frequency in both tissues; however, identical mutations in primary tumor and matched metastasis were found less frequently in the case of the Ki-ras than the p53 gene. Only in three cases the same p53 and Ki-ras mutations found in the primary tumor were found also in the metastasis. In several metastatic specimens the DNA bearing a mutation detected also in the primary tumor appears significantly less abundant than the wild-type …
Association between socioeconomic factors and origin of hospital referrals among patients with oral cancer.
2022
The Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) is responsible for offering free assistance to more than 100 million Brazilians, including treatment of oral cancer lesions. Considering that the Brazilian public system aids the most vulnerable population, this study analyzed whether the origin of hospital referrals of patients with oral cancer is associated with socioeconomic factors. A cross-sectional study was carried out from cancer hospital records of the National Cancer Institute (RHC-INCA), considering the primary locations (C00 to C06) diagnosed between 2016 and 2019. Data on gender, skin color (white and non-white), education (no schooling, incomplete or complete elementary education; high…
Net currents obtained from zero-average potentials in single amphoteric nanopores
2013
We have studied experimentally and theoretically the rectifying properties of a single asymmetric nanopore functionalized with amphoteric lysine groups and characterized the net current obtained with zero-average time dependent potentials. The pH-controlled rectification phenomena may be relevant to bio-electrochemistry, pH sensing and regulation, and energy conversion. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
