African forests within the Congo Basin are generally mapped at regional scale as broad-leaved evergreen forests, with a main distinction between terra-firme and swamp forests types. At the same time, commercial forest inventories, as well as national maps, have highlighted a strong spatial heterogeneity of forest types. A detailed vegetation map generated using consistent methods is needed to inform decision makers about spatial forest organisation and theirs relationships with environmental drivers in the context of global change. However, the function of Th17 cells during cancer progression remains controversial. Here, we show that human memory CD25(high) Th17 cells suppress T cell immunity in breast cancer. Ectonucleotidase-expressing Th17 cells accumulated in breast cancer tumors and suppressed CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cell activation. Abstract 17β-Estradiol (E2) suppresses the development of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) through estrogen receptor (ER) α, yet the cellular targets remain elusive. We have used an adoptive transfer model of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein–specific CD4+ T cells from 2D2 TCR transgenic mice. We show that in the recipient mice, ERα expression in bystander CD4+ T cells, rather than in cognate 2D2 T cells, is required for the inhibition of Th17 cell differentiation by E2. The first ATP-competitive p38α MAPK/MAPK14 inhibitor with excellent in vivo efficacy and selectivity, skepinone-L, is now available. We investigated the impact of selective p38α MAPK/MAPK14 inhibition on enzymatically modified LDL (eLDL) stimulated human monocytes with its implications for atherosclerosis.
