Rho GTPases Are Involved in the Regulation of NF-κB by Genotoxic Stress

A common cellular response to genotoxic agents and inflammatory cytokines is the activation of NF-kappaB. Here, we addressed the question of whether small GTPases of the Rho family are involved in the stimulation of NF-kappaB signaling by genotoxic agents or TNFalpha in HeLa cells. Inhibition of isoprenylation of Rho proteins by use of the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor lovastatin attenuated UV-, doxorubicin-, and TNFalpha-induced degradation of IkappaBalpha as well as drug-stimulated DNA binding activity of NF-kappaB. Abstract Grassroots social innovations are citizen-led initiatives that develop bottom-up solutions to societal challenges. Alternative food networks (AFNs) are innovations which propose alternative schemes for distribution and consumption of food—such as community-based agriculture or food cooperatives—which can improve the well-being of participants. Its potential for social work and social services has been recognised, but remains underexplored. In his novel entitled The Meursault Investigation (Meursault, contre-enquête) Kamel Daoud shows human weakness and anger against the religion, the same as they are depicted in Albert Camus’s works. His character, Haroun, who is a brother of the Arab killed in The Stranger by Camus, is in the quest for his identity. Being traumatized by his mother’s hold over him, he learns French in order to be able to express his disappointment over the world and his country where he feels as a stranger.

Artykuł dotyczy charakterystyki działań podejmowanych wobec ucznia wybitnie zdolnego. Pierwsza część artykułu porusza kwestie związane z identyfikacją zdolności oraz ich uwarunkowań. Dotyczy również czynników umożliwiających na możliwie szybkie rozpoznanie predyspozycji, które w przyszłości pozwolą na osiąganie ponadprzeciętnych wyników. Druga część artykułu charakteryzuje potrzeby ucznia zdolnego oraz trudności związane ze specyfiką pracy z tą grupą uczniów. Zawiera także opis czynności, które powinny być podjęte wobec ucznia zdolnego w procesie kształcenia.
