High resolution study of AsHD2: Ground state and the three bending fundamental bands v(3), v(4), and v(6)

2006

International audience; For the first time the infrared spectrum of the AsHD2 molecule has been measured in the region of the bending fundamental bands v(3), v(4), and v(6) on a Fourier transform spectrometer with a resolution of 0.0024 cm(-1) and analyzed. More than 5500 transitions with J(max) = 26 have been assigned and used both to obtain "ground state combination differences" and for the determination of upper state ro-vibrational energies of the triad (001000), (000100), and (000001). Rotational parameters including centrifugal distortion coefficients up to octic terms of the ground vibrational state were calculated by fitting more than 500 "ground state combination differences" with …

Parameter identification of linear induction motor model in extended range of operation by means of input-output data

2012

This paper proposes a technique for the off-line estimation of the electrical parameters of the equivalent circuit of linear induction machines (LIM), taking into consideration the end effects, and focuses on the application of an algorithm based on the minimization of a suitable cost function involving the differences of measured and computed by simulation inductor current components. This method exploits an entire start-up transient of the LIM to estimate all the 4 electrical parameters of the machine (Rs, L s, σ Ls, Tr). It proposes also a set of tests to be made to estimate the variation of the magnetic parameters of the LIM versus the magnetizing current as well as the magnetizing curv…

Characterization of impervious layers using scale models and an inverse method

2009

We describe a novel procedure that uses an inverse method to determine unknown parameters for impervious layers used in multilayer structures. The proposed model of the multilayer structure is limited to an ideal double plate separated by an unbonded, fibrous, sound-absorbing material. Experimental data were obtained by nearfield acoustic holography for the calculation of the transmission loss of various multilayer structures mounted in a window in a wooden box designed specifically for this purpose. We used the Trochidis and Kalaroutis forecast model of acoustic insulation for multilayer structures, which is based on a spatial Fourier transform. The experimental pressure and velocity data …

Partial data inverse problems for Maxwell equations via Carleman estimates

2015

In this article we consider an inverse boundary value problem for the time-harmonic Maxwell equations. We show that the electromagnetic material parameters are determined by boundary measurements where part of the boundary data is measured on a possibly very small set. This is an extension of earlier scalar results of Bukhgeim-Uhlmann and Kenig-Sj\"ostrand-Uhlmann to the Maxwell system. The main contribution is to show that the Carleman estimate approach to scalar partial data inverse problems introduced in those works can be carried over to the Maxwell system.

Concentration-Dependent Protection by Ethanol Extract ofPropolis against &#947

2011

[EN] Radioprotection with natural products may be relevant to the mitigation of ionizing radiation-induced damage in mammalian systems; in this sense, propolis extracts have shown effects such as antioxidant, antitumoral, anti-inflammatory, and immunostimulant. We report for the first time a cytogenetic study to evaluate the radioprotective effect, in vitro, of propolis against radiation-induced chromosomal damage. Lymphocytes were cultured with increasing concentrations of ethanol extract of propolis (EEP), including 20, 40, 120, 250, 500, 750, 1000, and 2000 ¿g mL-1 and then exposed to 2 Gy ¿-rays. A significant and concentration-dependent decrease is observed in the frequency of chromoso…

Fabry–Pérot lineshape analysis in an optically thick expanding plasma

2007

In this work the authors present Fabry–Perot measurements of Ar atom spectral line profiles originating from the expansion of an Ar–N2 thermal plasma into a low pressure environment. The plasma is characterized by strong density, temperature and velocity gradients and it offers a high degree of light absorption for some gas mixtures. First, it is demonstrated that the Abel inversion method cannot be applied under such conditions even if absorption is absent. Second, two approaches are examined to obtain plasma parameters in the case of an optically thick expanding plasma. It is shown that velocity and temperature development along the jet radius can be inferred from experimental lineshapes …
