Evaluation: between values and indicators

The article discusses the dilemmas associated with the development of evaluation studies in Poland. These studies are for several years establishing their position and entering into a variety of social areas. Along with their dissemination the approaches and models of evaluation used in these areas differentiate. The practice of evaluation involves difficult choices regarding compliance with the idea of these studies, their usefulness and social functions. On the evaluative field appear significant disparities between different areas of evaluation and alternative models that are not always positive image of this field.

International audience; Named word of the year by the OED in 2013, the “selfie” is a worldwide phenomenon. Many see these digital self-portraits as markers for the spread of narcissism or signs of the blurring of limits between the public and private spheres. Initially popular with young people, selfies were soon adopted by politicians who, in a mediatized society, are eager to adhere to new vogues and use digital trends to self-promote. Abstract The adoption in 2018 of the Escazú Agreement by the countries of the Latin American and Caribbean region marks the second regional legal instrument aimed at the implementation of Principle 10 of the 1992 Rio Declaration, joining the Aarhus Convention of the pan-European region. Governance of cultural heritage: towards participatory approaches

This article analyzes participatory governance in relation to heritage. Based on previous studies on the implementation of participation and theoretical discussions considering the participatory governance of cultural heritage, we found four types of cultural heritage governance, with differing weights with regard to public authorities, civil society, markets, and citizens. Governmental, corporatist, service-led, and co-creative cultural heritage governance types were identified, which reflect the shifts in participatory approaches to governance from state-centered activities to the proliferation of civil society, and from professionally dominated to more citizen-based activities.
