The outer capsid proteins VP4 and VP7 induce neutralizing antibody against rotavirus. We have investigated in a mouse model the protection mediated by immunization with VP8*, the amino-terminal tryptic fragment of VP4. BALB/c female mice immunized with simian rotavirus SA11 VP6 and VP8* proteins expressed in Escherichia coli were mated with seronegative males. Litters were orally challenged with the SA11 strain (P5B[2], G3) or with the murine rotavirus strain EDIM (P10[16], G3) to verify the degree of protection against diarrhea induced in the newborns. Hence, the value of a historian is not measured by his ability to gather in a single narrative stories of men from all times all over the world. What matters is the way in which the common human nature of all of the actors in history emerges. Host parasite coevolution assumes pathogen specific genetic variation in host immune defense. Also, if immune function plays a role in the evolution of life history, allocation to immune function should be heritable. We conducted a cross-fostering experiment to test the relative importance of genetic and environmental sources of variation in T-cell mediated inflammatory response and antigen specific antibody responses in the great tits Parus major. Dalle indagini psico-sociali che presentano un monitoraggio della condizione giovanile nel nostro paese, emerge una difficoltà nei preadolescenti, negli adolescenti e nei giovani nel rapportarsi alla storia: una dispercezione della storia passata che tende a cancellare la memoria. Nel testo si propone di riprendere la categoria di risorgimento come atteggiamento adeguato per cogliere il senso del tempo e della storia: perché quanto non si è esplicato in tutte le sue potenzialità ed è rimasto virtuale possa ritornare in vita, in nuove forme inedite. In questa cornice generale, "risorgimento" diventa un compito culturale ed educativo oggi sempre aperto.
