In order to quantify gaps in the provision of medical nutrition care in Germany and pinpoint specific areas of need, we collected data from patients, nurses and physicians. The results from the patient survey were published separately. A total of 506 participants from 69 certified centers answered the questions developed in cooperation with representatives from different professional groups (physicians, nurses and dietitians). Aim The aim of this study was to describe the accuracy and quality of nursing documentation of the prevalence, risk factors and prevention of pressure ulcers, and compare retrospective audits of nursing documentation with patient examinations conducted in nursing homes. Nosocomial infections and antimicrobial resistance (AR) are highly important problems that impact the morbidity and mortality of hospitalized patients as well as their cost of care. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate our analysis of AR by applying a number of various data mining (DM) techniques to real hospital data. The data for the analysis includes instances of sensitivity of nosocomial infections to antibiotics collected in a hospital over three years 2002-2004.
