Maria Antònia Salvà va dedicar molts anys a traduir un dels poetes més importants del simbolisme italià, Giovanni Pascoli. L’interès de la poeta mallorquina també devia ser motivat per les múltiples afinitats que devia apreciar entre la seva poesia i la del poeta italià. Durante siglos ha permanecido vigente en las poblaciones católicas un precepto religioso que prohibía las relaciones sexuales durante la Cuaresma. Esta interdicción repercutía en una disminución de concepciones y en un repunte tras dicho periodo, ambos difíciles de detectar porque, en poblaciones que no ejercían un control efectivo de la fecundidad, también se registraba un pico de concepciones durante la primavera. Impact of Destroying the Structure of Model Gels on Volatile Release

International audience; The release of a strawberry aroma from different composite gels taken as models of fruit preparations and from a sucrose solution was investigated. The composition of the model systems differed with regard to the gelling agent, either pectin or carrageenan, and to the rigidity of the gel. With the use of atmospheric pressure chemical ionization−mass spectrometry, the release profiles of the aroma compounds were determined under stirring. Maģistra darba tēma ir veltīta ES pretkorupcijas politikas savstarpējas saistības noteikšanai ar ES paplašināšanās procesu un tā ietekmi uz korupcijas līmeņa izmaiņām ES dalībvalstīs. 2004.gada paplašināšanās ietvaros izvirzītie nosacījumi jaunajām ES dalībvalstīm par pretkorupcijas pasākumu ieviešanu sakrita ar laika periodu, kad vairākas ES institūcijas aktualizēja nepieciešamību veikt korupcijas novēršanas pasākumus arī vecajās dalībvalstīs un ES institūcijās. Pamats tam bija krāpniecības un korupcijas rezultātā arvien pieaugošie ikgadēji ES finanšu līdzekļu zaudējumu apmēri. IF 4.638; International audience; AIM : To analyze the association between chronic metformin treatment and the development of contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).METHODS: Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) treated with PCI 27μmol/l (0.3mg/dl) or >50% over baseline after PCI. Heat shock response in yeast involver changes in both transcription rates and mRNA stabilities

We have analyzed the heat stress response in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae by determining mRNA levels and transcription rates for the whole transcriptome after a shift from 25uC to 37uC. Using an established mathematical algorithm, theoretical mRNA decay rates have also been calculated from the experimental data. We have verified the mathematical predictions for selected genes by determining their mRNA decay rates at different times during heat stress response using the regulatable tetO promoter. This study indicates that the yeast response to heat shock is not only due to changes in transcription rates, but also to changes in the mRNA stabilities. mRNA stability is affected in 62% of …
