Generalized dimension distortion under planar Sobolev homeomorphisms
2009
We prove essentially sharp dimension distortion estimates for planar Sobolev-Orlicz homeomorphisms.
Homeomorphisms of Finite Distortion
2013
In this chapter we establish the optimal regularity of the inverse mapping in higher dimensions and optimal Sobolev regularity for composites. Moreover, we establish optimal moduli of continuity for mappings in our classes and we discuss orientation preservation and approximation of Sobolev homeomorphisms.
Agro jauno laiku Rīgas kapsētu apbedījumu izpēte ar senās DNS analīzēm: nozīmīgākās pieejas un izpētes perspektīvas
2020
Apbedītajiem konstatēti dažādi izcelsmes reģioni, kas a…
Pd nanoparticles immobilized on the poly-dopamine decorated halloysite nanotubes hybridized with N-doped porous carbon monolayer: A versatile catalys…
2020
A hybrid catalyst, Pd@Hal-pDA-NPC, with the utility for promoting both C–C coupling reactions (Sonogashira, Heck and Suzuki reactions) and hydrogenation of nitrocompounds is prepared through two main steps. First, Pd(0) nanoparticles was immobilized on the poly-dopamine decorated halloysite nanotubes (Hal-pDA) and then Pd@Hal-pDA was hybridized with the layers of a novel multi-N-doped porous carbon monolayer derived from 4,4′,4″-((1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tris(azanediyl))tribenzonitrile. The results established that the catalyst could catalyze all the reactions efficiently under mild reaction condition. Moreover Pd@Hal-pDA-NPC exhibited high recyclability (up to ten reac…
The EPPS16 nuclear PDFs
2017
We report on EPPS16 - the first analysis of NLO nuclear PDFs where LHC p-Pb data (Z, W, dijets) have been directly used as a constraint. In comparison to our previous fit EPS09, also data from neutrino-nucleus deeply-inelastic scattering and pion-nucleus Drell-Yan process are now included. Much of the theory framework has also been updated from EPS09, including a consistent treatment of heavy quarks in deeply-inelastic scattering. However, the most notable change is that we no longer assume flavour-blind nuclear modifications for valence and sea quarks. This significantly reduces the theoretical bias. All the analysed data are well reproduced and the analysis thereby supports the validity o…
Emergence of Aspergillus fumigatus azole resistance in azole-naïve patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and their homes.
2017
Azole-resistant Aspergillus fumigatus (ARAF) has been reported in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) but has not been specifically assessed so far. Here, we evaluated ARAF prevalence in azole-naïve COPD patients and their homes, and assessed whether CYP51A mutations were similar in clinical and environmental reservoirs. Sixty respiratory samples from 41 COPD patients with acute exacerbation and environmental samples from 36 of these patient's homes were prospectively collected. A. fumigatus was detected in respiratory samples from 11 of 41 patients (27%) and in 15 of 36 domiciles (42%). Cyp51A sequencing and selection on itraconazole medium of clinical (n = 68) and e…
Mpdz is a quantitative trait gene for drug withdrawal seizures
2004
Physiological dependence and associated withdrawal episodes can constitute a powerful motivational force that perpetuates drug use and abuse. Using robust behavioral models of drug physiological dependence in mice, positional cloning, and sequence and expression analyses, we identified an addiction-relevant quantitative trait gene, Mpdz. Our findings provide a framework to define the protein interactions and neural circuit by which this gene's product (multiple PDZ domain protein) affects drug dependence, withdrawal and relapse.
Lung deposition of extrafine inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)-containing fixed combinations drug in COPD patients using Functional Respiratory Imaging (F…
2018
Introduction: FRI is a novel computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based technique using formulation profile and patients lung CT scan to simulate aerosol deposition. Aims and objectives: To evaluate lung deposition of pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI) extrafine beclometasone dipropionate/formoterol fumarate/glycopyrronium (BDP/FF/G Trimbow®) with pMDI extrafine BDP/FF (Foster®) pMDI and compared them with reference gamma scintigraphy data. Methods: FRI was used to assess, in silico, the deposition of pMDI combination products (BDP/FF/G and BDP/FF) in 20 moderate to severe COPD patients. FRI combined high-resolution lung CT scans of each patient with in silico computational flow simulati…
Inhalation therapy devices for the treatment of obstructive lung diseases: the history of inhalers towards the ideal inhaler.
2020
Inhalation therapy allows conveying drugs directly into the airways. The devices used to administer inhaled drugs play a crucial role in the management of obstructive lung diseases such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). To ensure high bronchial deposition of the drug, a device should deliver a high proportion of fine particles, be easy to use, and provide constant and accurate doses of the active substance. Nowadays, four different types of inhalers are widely used: nebulizers, dry powder inhalers (DPIs), pressurized metered-dose inhalers (pMDIs), and soft mist inhalers (SMIs). Nebulizers can be used by patients unable to use other inhalers. However, they require l…
PD‐1‐induced T cell exhaustion is controlled by a Drp1‐dependent mechanism
2022
Programmed cell death‐1 (PD‐1) signaling downregulates the T‐cell response, promoting an exhausted state in tumor‐infiltrating T cells, through mostly unveiled molecular mechanisms. Dynamin‐related protein‐1 (Drp1)‐dependent mitochondrial fission plays a crucial role in sustaining T‐cell motility, proliferation, survival, and glycolytic engagement. Interestingly, such processes are exactly those inhibited by PD‐1 in tumor‐infiltrating T cells. Here, we show that PD‐1pos CD8+ T cells infiltrating an MC38 (murine adenocarcinoma)‐derived murine tumor mass have a downregulated Drp1 activity and more elongated mitochondria compared with PD‐1neg counterparts. Also, PD‐1pos lymphocytic elements in…
