Effects of an experimental short-time high-intensity warm-up on explosive muscle strength performance in soccer players: A pilot study.

2022

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an experimental short-time warm-up consisting of a small number of intermittent high-intensity sprints on explosive muscle strength performance in soccer players and to identify recovery times after performing the sprints. Furthermore, we evaluated the reliability of a smartphone app in jumping performance. Methods: Twenty male soccer players were given the following tests: 1) the counter-movement jump (CMJ) test with the Microgate system, 2) the counter-movement jump (CMJ) test with the MyJump smartphone app, and 3) the handgrip strength test. The experimental short-time high-intensity warm-up was carried out 1 week after test administr…

Multi-Criteria Evaluation of Health Care Performance in the Czech Republic and Poland

2022

Health is considered as the most important value in a person's life. It follows, therefore, that health care evaluation is very important aspect from a societal point of view. Evaluating of health care is an essential component to determine the functioning of national health care system and to improve its performance. The paper is focused on the evaluation and comparison of health care performance in the Czech Republic and Poland based on a multicriteria analysis. The research is monitoring the selected health care indicators for the period of six years from 2014 to 2019. The obtained data are processed by TOPSIS method. the output of the research is the ranking of the countries of the Euro…

Heavy vs Light Load Single-Joint Exercise Performance with Different Rest Intervals

2017

Abstract The aim of the study was to compare the effect of three distinct rest period lengths between sets of upper body single-joint exercise with different load zones and volume designed for either endurance or hypertrophy (50% or 80% of 1-RM). Sixteen trained men (20.75 ± 2.54 years; 76.35 ± 5.03 kg; 176.75 ± 3.33 cm, 24.53 ± 1.47 kg/m2) performed a test and retest of 1-RM on non-consecutive days. Forty-eight hours after load testing, the participants were randomly assigned to six sessions consisting of four sets of the triceps pull-down, combining different intensities with distinct rest periods between sets. The shorter 1 minute rest promoted a significant reduction in the total repeti…

The contribution of "spontaneous" health care networks to improving outcomes: Opportunities and challenges from the perspective of planning and contr…

2019

The article aims to explore how Planning Control systems may support network-oriented policy-making in the health care sector. This work examines the case of ISMETT (Mediterranean Institute for high specialized transplants and therapies), a Sicilian hospital established in 1998 to provide high specialized and complex transplants and therapies. ISMETT pertains to several networks and it has a long-time experience in establishing and governing such inter-organizational relationships. The analysis of the case illustrates how health care networks may contribute to improve health and generate social and economic outcomes for the community.

“Toward a full decentralization of public regional healthcare systems: an exploratory system dynamic approach to evaluate some socio-economic healthc…

2012

The Italian Healthcare Service, originally managed by the central Government, has been gradually adjusted toward a decentralized model, with ample devolution of legislative, organizational and financial competencies to the regions, now responsible for the creation of an institutional framework where efficiency, efficacy and accountability have to inform the actions of the healthcare operators. In Sicily for decades those principles seem not to have received practical implementation, as the healthcare system has been chronically marked by unsatisfying social and economic performances. Due to the recent financial disequilibria, the central Government pushed the regional one to reform the enti…

Theatricalization of self : personal blogs as theatre performance

2012

The aim of this thesis is to compare personal blogs and theatre art. The study is conducted as theoretical discourse and focuses on comparison of personal blogs with a subgenre of theatre art, performance art. Using actual selected examples from theatre art as well as from personal blogs, the study aims to outline the similarities, which personal blogs share with theatre performance. The theoretical framework of the thesis suggests that personal blogs with their nature of the observed subject, the blogger, and the observer, the reader, produce one of the basic elements of theatre art, theatricality. Furthermore, personal blogs are placed closer to postdramatic theatre, a form of theatre art…

SEU characterization of commercial and custom-designed SRAMs based on 90 nm technology and below

2020

International audience; The R2E project at CERN has tested a few commercial SRAMs and a custom-designed SRAM, whose data are complementary to various scientific publications. The experimental data include low- and high-energy protons, heavy ions, thermal, intermediate- and high-energy neutrons, high-energy electrons and high-energy pions.

Cuerpos propios.

Single hollow fiber SLM extraction of polyamines followed by tosyl chloride derivatization and HPLC determination

2007

Determination of polyamines in biological fluids possesses medical diagnostic relevance. Despite the vast panel of analytical methods developed for polyamines they are not applied in routine clinical usage, mainly due to the time and labor consuming sample preparation step and complicated derivatization procedures. Thus, new simpler methods are needed. This paper describes a single hollow fiber SLM extraction method of polyamines followed by simple pre-column derivatization with tosyl chloride and HPLC-UV analysis. The influence of different parameters such as the extraction time, organic phase composition, acceptor pH, donor pH, acceptor volume, donor volume and stirring speed on the trans…

MODELING PUBLIC POLICIES ANALYSIS OF LOGISTICS COLLABORATION IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF THE POTATO IN COLOMBIA.

2020

The agricultural sector is considered fundamental for the supply of food needs of humanity, given the population growth. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the world population is estimated to be 9 billion people by the year 2050 and where the conditions of climate change can decrease crop yield up to 25%. This triggers greater vulnerability to the neediest population, being the rural sector the one hosting the poorest people. The rural area of Colombia represents 94% of extend the national territory, where 24% of the population lives a scenario of multiple problems that affect the country, such as the armed conflict of more than five decades, the presence of illicit …
