Five patients with acquired monocular elevation paresis were investigated using direct current electrooculography. With recovery, upward saccade velocities significantly increased in both eyes in all patients. The gain of upward-following eye movements significantly increased in the paretic eye of all patients and in the opposite eye of four patients. These findings are interpreted in terms of an asymmetric upgaze palsy which clinically presented as monocular elevation paresis in the more severely affected eye. A decreased basal and/or stimulated activity of the G-protein/adenylyl cyclase (AC) system in peripheral blood cells has been proposed to represent a trait marker for alcoholism. However, AC activity may underlie state-dependent changes, which may impair a proper interpretation of AC activity measurements. Remifentanil has a suitable pharmacological profile for labour analgesia. In this prospective, observational study, intravenous patient-controlled analgesia with remifentanil, using stepwise bolus doses without background infusion, was examined during the first and second stages of labour. Outcomes were pain reduction, maternal satisfaction, maternal and neonatal side effects and remifentanil metabolism in the neonate.Parturients with normal term singleton pregnancies were recruited. Objective To evaluate the influence of 10 minutes of bed rest after ET on the achievement of a live-born infant (LBI) in patients undergoing IVF treatment with oocyte donation (OD). Iodine is an essential micronutrient for the synthesis of thyroid hormones. The proper functioning of the thyroid axis is essential for the normal development of the nervous system, especially in the first trimester of gestation. The aim of the present study was to analyze the perinatal outcomes, anthropometry, and APGAR test scores of newborns and to relate them to maternal thyroid status. Atbilstoši darba nosaukumam tika noteikts arī darba mērķis – izpētīt Liepājas apgabaltiesas darbību Latvijas Republikas tiesu sistēmā laika posmā no 1918.gada līdz 1940.gadam. Bakalaura darbs „Ekrāna radītas diskomforta žilbšanas atkarība no telpas apgaismojuma” ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 29 lappusēm. Tas satur 17 attēlus, 2 tabulas un 33 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: Novērtēt dažādu faktoru ietekmi uz diskomforta žilbšanu gados jauniem cilvēkiem. Metode: Pētījumā piedalījās 24 dalībnieki, vecumā no 19 līdz 26 gadiem, kuriem tika noteikts fotopiskos un mezopiskos apstākļos patīkamākais ekrāna spožums, gan pie augsta, gan pie zema ekrāna stimula kontrasta. Darba mērķis ir apzināt Gotholda Efraima Lesinga estētiskās audzināšanas projektu apgaismības laikmeta estētiskā racionālisma kontekstā. Lai sasniegtu mērķi, ir izvirzīti trīs uzdevumi. Pirmkārt, sniegt ieskatu Lesinga priekšstatos par dažādu mākslas veidu uzdevumiem. Otrkārt, izprast Lesinga iezīmēto mākslas veidu sadarbību vai – tieši otrādi – to izslēdzošās attiecības. Treškārt, uzzināt, vai Lesinga gadījumā ir iespējams runāt par vienotu mākslas principu vai mākslas definīcijas izveidi. Darba gaitā secināts, ka vienotība nav iespējama mākslu hierarhiskā statusa un dažādo funkciju dēļ.
