Maģistra darbā ir apskatīta bilingvālu skolēnu lasītprasme 4. klasē, kuras aktuālitāti apliecina izglītības pārmaiņas mācību valodas jomā. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt 4. klases bilingvālo skolēnu lasītprasmes sasniegumus. Tiek apskatīti pētāmie terminoloģiskie jautājumi, analizēta zinātniskā literatūra un dokumenti par bilingvālo izglītību un bilingvālu 4. klases skolēnu valodas attīstības īpatnībām, analizēti pētījumi un publikāciju dati par bilingvālu skolēnu sasniegumiem. Veicot PIRLS 2016 pētījuma kvantitatīvo datu analīzi, tiek nonākts pie secinājumiem, ka 4. klasē monolingvālu skolēnu lasītprasmes sasniegumi ir statistiski nozīmīgi augstāki nekā bilingvāliem skolēniem.
