EVOLUTION OF ANTHOCYANIN PROFILES FROM GRAPE TO WINE
2010
Aims: This study aimed at acquiring knowledge on the evolution of anthocyanins from grape to wine and the possibility of deducing the varietal origin of a wine from its anthocyanin profile. Methods and results: The anthocyanin “fingerprints”, or profiles, of a series of autochthonous Sicilian accessions and in the respective young wines were determined by HPLC-DAD in 2008. Data were evaluated by taking into account the development of percentages of side-ring disubstituted and trisubstituted anthocyanins, the ratio between acetylated and p-coumaroylated derivatives, and PCA results. From grape until the end of alcoholic fermentation, percentages of 3-glucosides of cyanidin, peonidin, delphin…

Profiles of Parental Burnout Around the Globe : Similarities and Differences Across 36 Countries
2023
Parental burnout (PB) is a pervasive phenomenon. Parenting is embedded in cultural values, and previous research has shown the role of individualism in PB. In this paper, we reanalyze previously collected data to identify profiles based on the four dimensions of PB, and explore whether these profiles vary across countries’ levels of collectivistic-individualistic (COL-IND) values. Our sample comprised 16,885 individuals from 36 countries (73% women; 27% men), and we used a latent profile approach to uncover PB profiles. The findings showed five profiles: Fulfilled, Not in PB, Low risk of PB, High risk of PB and Burned out. The profiles pointed to climbing levels of PB in the total sample an…
An assessment model for the musical material produced during the course of music therapy
2016
Assessment is described as the collection and analysis of information with an objective of planning and implementing an effective treatment program. Past research suggests that the professional recognition, level of communication in interdisciplinary teams and the results of research directly depend on the successful implementation of an assessment system. However, to date no tools that assess musical material produced during the course of music therapy are formalised or widely implemented into clinical practice. After exploration of both the clinicians’ and researchers’ needs for an assessment system and thorough analysis of the existing assessment tools used in music therapy settings, an …

Replacement of meat by spinach on physicochemical and nutritional properties of chicken burgers
2019
This study describes the replacement of meat by spinach on physicochemical and nutritional properties of chicken burgers. Three batches of chicken burgers were manufactured: control (burgers prepared with 100% of chicken meat), E10 (burgers manufactured with 10% of spinach and 90% of chicken meat), and E30 (burgers pre‐ pared with 30% of spinach and 70% of chicken meat). The replacement of meat by spinach significantly affected the color parameters, decreasing L*, a*, and b* values with the increasing of spinach amount addition. Burgers manufactured with 30% of spinach presented the lowest fat (5.76%), energy (146.75 Kcal/100 g), and NaCl (0.87%) contents. On the contrary, dietary fiber inc…
Fruit Quality Traits of Two Apricot Cultivars
2010
In this trial we evaluated physical and chemical fruit quality traits and sensory profile of two late-ripening apricot cultivars ‘Vitillo’ and ‘Pellecchiella’. Fruits were harvested at full maturation in three different pickings, at 4 day intervals, to ensure the same fruit quality. To verify quality among different pickings, weight, diameter, soluble solid content, titratable acidity, pH, colour were recorded. To describe and quantify the sensory characteristics of apricot fruits a panel of 10 judges generated 16 descriptors. For each of these attributes judges assigned a score from 1 to 9. Qualitative and sensory data for each attribute were submitted to one way Analysis of Variance (ANOV…
Aggregation and remuneration in Demand-Response with a blockchain-based framework
2020
This paper describes the possibility to use the blockchain technology for load and generation aggregation in a new distributed Demand Response (DR) service and customers remuneration system. The blockchain technology and the use of smart contracts for DR allow the creation of a distributed system in which customers can communicate directly, in a transparent, secure and traceable way, with the grid operator to provide their flexibility. In this paper, the DR problem formulation takes into account several aspects, which are periodically executed. First, the blockchain records customers’ energy consumption or production, then, the smart contract starts calculating the baseline and the potentia…
Effect of short-term guided aerobic exercise and diet intervention on overweight women
2010
Abstract Effect of Short-Term Guided Aerobic Exercise and Diet Intervention on Overweight Women Kauko, Kirsi LLTS007 Master’s Thesis of Sport Medicine University of Jyväskylä, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, Department of Health Sciences Spring 2010, 68 pages, 6 appendices Overweight or obese persons have substantially increased risk for multiple chronic disorders, for example type 2 diabetes (T2D), dyslipidemia, hypertension and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Physical activity or exercise has an important role in the prevention and treatment of obesity related illnesses, for example T2D, CVD and metabolic syndrome (MetS). The main goal of this Master’s thesis is to study the possible …
Associations of cardiometabolic risk factors with heart rate variability in 6‐ to 8‐year‐old children : The PANIC Study
2020
Background Associations of cardiometabolic risk factors with heart rate variability (HRV) in children are unclear. We examined associations of cardiometabolic risk score (CRS) and individual cardiometabolic risk factors with HRV variables in 6‐ to 8‐year‐olds. Methods The participants were a population‐based sample of 443 children participating in baseline measurements of the Physical Activity and Nutrition in Children trial. Cardiometabolic risk factors included waist circumference (WC), insulin, glucose, triglycerides, HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP). CRS was calculated as WC + insulin + glucose + triglycerides − HDL cholesterol + the mea…
