Cross-border integration of universities as a possible research topic in border studies

The text deals with the cross-border cooperation of universities as a possible new research topic in border studies. We identified two important associations of universities operating in border areas in the EU core and two associations gathering universities from Czech, Polish and Slovak areas. Then we tried to identify the areas in which these universities cooperate. It turned out that the principal difference is in a significantly higher number of joint study programs. This has probably a link to the high cross-border integration in the EU core. Gamma-ray bursts are usually classified through their high-energy emission into short-duration and long-duration bursts, which presumably reflect two different types of progenitors. However, it has been shown on statistical grounds that a third, intermediate population is needed in this classification scheme, although an extensive study of the properties of this class has so far not been done. Zemkvadrātisks algoritms koku ceļu apakšvirkņu uzdevumam

Darbā tiek apskatīts garākās kopīgās apakšvirknes uzdevuma vispārinājums uz kokiem. Tiek apskatīti divi vienāda izmēra koki, kuru virsotnes ir marķētas ar vienas kopas elementiem. Garākā kopīgā apakšvirkne tiek meklēta pāri visiem ieejas koku ceļu pāriem. Galvenais rezultāts ir algoritms, kas risina apskatīto uzdevumu laikā $O(n \log^3 n)$, kur $n$ ir abu ieejas koku virsotņu skaits.

Visual learning is an important aspect of fly life. Flies are able to extract visual cues from objects, like colors, vertical and horizontal distributedness, and others, that can be used for learning to associate a meaning to specific features (i.e. a reward or a punishment). Interesting biological experiments show trained stationary flying flies avoiding flying towards specific visual objects, appearing on the surrounding environment.
