The Programmed Death (PD)‐1/PD‐Ligand 1 Pathway Regulates Graft‐Versus‐Host‐Reactive CD8 T Cells After Liver Transplantation

2008

Acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) is a life-threatening complication after solid-organ transplantation, which is mediated by host-reactive donor T cells emigrating from the allograft. We report on two liver transplant recipients who developed an almost complete donor chimerism in peripheral blood and bone marrow-infiltrating T cells during aGVHD. By analyzing these T cells directly ex vivo, we found that they died by apoptosis over time without evidence of rejection by host T cells. The host-versus-donor reactivity was selectively impaired, as anti-third-party and antiviral T cells were still detectable in the host repertoire. These findings support the acquired donor-specific allotol…

PD-1 signalling in CD4+T cells restrains their clonal expansion to an immunogenic stimulus, but is not critically required for peptide-induced tolera…

2010

Summary The ultimate outcome of T-cell recognition of peptide–major histocompatibility complex (MHC) complexes is determined by the molecular context in which antigen presentation is provided. The paradigm is that, after exposure to peptides presented by steady-state dendritic cells (DCs), inhibitory signals dominate, leading to the deletion and/or functional inactivation of antigen-reactive T cells. This has been utilized in a variety of models providing peptide antigen in soluble form in the absence of adjuvant. A co-inhibitory molecule of considerable current interest is PD-1. Here we show that there is the opportunity for the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction to function in inhibiting the T-cell r…

Experimental conditions for respiration and growth studies of F0 and F1 larval and juvenile European seabass Dicentrarchus labrax

2022

Water parameters in the 2 years before spawning of F0 (08.02.2016-06.03.2018) and during larval and juvenile phase of F1: Larval period until 17.05.2018 (48 dph, 900 dd) and 01.06.2018 (63 dph, ~900 dd) for warm and cold life condition respectively, for the juveniles until 28.09.2018 (180 dph, ~4000 dd) and 12.02.2019 (319 dph, ~5100 dd) for warm and cold conditioned fish respectively. Means ± s.e. over all replicate tanks per condition. Temperature (Temp.), pH (free scale), salinity, oxygen and total alkalinity (TA) were measured weekly in F1 and monthly in F0; sea water (SW) measurements were conducted in 2017 and 2018. Water parameters during larval and early juvenile phase of F0: Larval…

FPGA implementation of a deep learning algorithm for real-time signal reconstruction in particle detectors under high pile-up conditions

2019

The analog signals generated in the read-out electronics of particle detectors are shaped prior to the digitization in order to improve the signal to noise ratio (SNR). The real amplitude of the analog signal is then obtained using digital filters, which provides information about the energy deposited in the detector. The classical digital filters have a good performance in ideal situations with Gaussian electronic noise and no pulse shape distortion. However, high-energy particle colliders, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, can produce multiple simultaneous events, which produce signal pileup. The performance of classical digital filters deteriorates in these conditions sinc…

Calibration and Validation

2016

The aim of this chapter is to summarise the problems incurred during the phases of calibrating and validating the extortion racket models used by the GLODERS project. The chapter starts with the discussion of the data availability and summarises shortly the contents of Sect. 4.3. It continues with a discussion of what parameterisation, calibration, sensitivity analysis and validation have to do with each other and ends up with a discussion of the validity of the GLODERS models.

Evaluación de una Intervención Mindfulness en Equipos de Cuidados Paliativos

2018
