Some Remarks on the Spectral Properties of Toeplitz Operators
2019
In this paper, we study some local spectral properties of Toeplitz operators $$T_\phi $$ defined on Hardy spaces, as the localized single-valued extension property and the property of being hereditarily polaroid.
SATURATED FORMATIONS CLOSED UNDER SYLOW NORMALIZERS
2005
In this article we show that a finite soluble group possesses nilpotent Hall subgroups for well-defined sets of primes if and only if its Sylow normalizers satisfy the same property. In fact, this property of groups provides a characterization of the subgroup-closed saturated formations, whose elements are characterized by the Sylow normalizers belonging to the class, in the universe of all finite soluble groups.
Cohomology and associated deformations for not necessarily co-associative bialgebras
1992
In this Letter, a cohomology and an associated theory of deformations for (not necessarily co-associative) bialgebras are studied. The cohomology was introduced in a previous paper (Lett. Math. Phys.25, 75–84 (1992)). This theory has several advantages, especially in calculating cohomology spaces and in its adaptability to deformations of quasi-co-associative (qca) bialgebras and even quasi-triangular qca bialgebras.
Mechanical and cohesion properties of brass plated steel cords in a sulphurizing environment
1986
The mechanical and cohesion properties of brass plated steel cords have been investigated in dry hydrogen sulphide between 25 and 450° C. The extents of elastic and plastic regions, obtained from slow strain rate technique data have been defined, and the preferential site of decohesion tends to be the brass-steel interface.
Limiting conditions of yielding for anisotropic materials
1969
The known Limiting Conditions of Yielding presuppose homogeneity andisotropy of the material. Formulas for anisotropic materials have been proposed: but they cannot be applied to all practical applications. The Limiting Condition of Yielding already proposed by the A. for isotropic materials can easily be extended to materials with different mechanical properties in different directions: the formulas obtained confirm the particular cases and the particular formulas already known for isotropic materials. The various solutions proposed by the A. for anisotropic bodies are usually represented by paraboloids whose characteristics obviously depend on the experimental parameters.
Generalized Fatigue Criterion of maximum shear and normal strains on the fracture plane for materials under multiaxial random loadings
1991
A generalized fatigue criterion for materials under multiaxial random loadings is presented. The criterion is based on the assumption that shear and normal strain on the expected fracture plane – shear strain in one direction on this plane is considered – determine the fracture plane. It has been shown that the well known fatigue criteria of maximum normal strain, maximum shear strain and the criterion of maximum shear and normal strains on the critical shear plane result from the newly formulated criterion.

Most coaches and instructors would like to teach more than just sport skills to their athletes and children. However, to promote athletes’ or children’s holistic development and teach them to take responsibility and lead, requires the coaches and instructors to first master the skills themselves. Therefore, feasible, high quality leadership training programs where coaches and physical activity instructors are taught to teach and share leadership are needed. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the feasibility of a leadership training program to optimize it and to determine whether to proceed with its evaluation. In the leadership training program, eight Finnish novice physical activ…
QUALITY OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION, OBSTACLES AND NECESSARY PEDAGOGICAL SOLUTIONS IN WORKING WITH PUPILS WITH AUTISM IN ITALY
2018
Nowadays are increasingly encountered children diagnosed with autism, but there are still serious problems of inclusion of these children in the comprehensive general education system. This is due to various factors. The author of this study many years is working in the schools of special education in Rome, so in the year 2010 started research on inclusion of pupils with autism into the Italian schools. The idea is to transmit the author's knowledge and experience further in Latvia, where inclusion of such pupils into general education schools is still at an early stage because of a lack of both human resources and financial resources, as well in regard of experience and clear understanding…
Terbium Medical Radioisotope Production: Laser Resonance Ionization Scheme Development
2021
Terbium (Tb) is a promising element for the theranostic approach in nuclear medicine. The new CERN-MEDICIS facility aims for production of its medical radioisotopes to support related R&D projects in biomedicine. The use of laser resonance ionization is essential to provide radioisotopic yields of highest quantity and quality, specifically regarding purity. This paper presents the results of preparation and characterization of a suitable two-step laser resonance ionization process for Tb. By resonance excitation via an auto-ionizing level, the high ionization efficiency of 53% was achieved. To simulate realistic production conditions for Tb radioisotopes, the influence of a surplus of Gd at…
Simulating music with associative self-organizing maps
2018
Abstract We present an architecture able to recognise pitches and to internally simulate likely continuations of partially heard melodies. Our architecture consists of a novel version of the Associative Self-Organizing Map (A-SOM) with generalized ancillary connections. We tested the performance of our architecture with melodies from a publicly available database containing 370 Bach chorale melodies. The results showed that the architecture could learn to represent and perfectly simulate the remaining 20% of three different interrupted melodies when using a context length of 8 centres of activity in the A-SOM. These promising and encouraging results show that our architecture offers somethi…
