Partnership formation and dissolution over the life course: applying sequence analysis and event history analysis in the study of recurrent events

We present two types of approach to the analysis of recurrent events for discretely measured data, and show how these methods can complement each other when analysing co-residential partnership histories. Sequence analysis is a descriptive tool that gives an overall picture of the data and helps to find typical and atypical patterns in histories. Event history analysis is used to make conclusions about the effects of covariates on the timing and duration of the partnerships. AbstractIn this nonconfirmatory qualitative study, we pursued a range of hypotheses regarding how gaming operates in the lives and psychosocial wellbeing of those who actively play videogames during a crisis, such as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Informed by an explorative survey (N = 793), interpretive phenomenological analysis was applied to interview data from actively gaming Chinese (n = 10) and Finnish (n = 10) participants. ResumenSiguiendo los fundamentos de la crítica como sabotaje, este ensayo analiza la novela de Élmer Mendoza, Cóbraselo caro, como un efecto performativo de la lectura de la novela de Juan Rulfo, Pedro Páramo. A través del estudio de las relaciones lingüísticas, temáticas y situacionales entre esas dos novelas, muestra que Cóbraselo caro, aun siendo un efecto performativo de Pedro Páramo, supone el auto-sabotaje de Élmer Mendoza en relación a buena parte de su narrativa.
