This paper examines the problem of tracking control of networked multi-agent systems with multiple delays and impulsive effects, whose results are applied to mechanical robotic systems. Influence of friction stir processing conditions on the manufacturing of Al-Mg-Zn-Cu alloy/boron carbide surface composite

Abstract Surface metal matrix composites were synthesized via friction stir processing (FSP) on the surface of aluminium alloy 7075 (AA 7075) sheets by incorporating B4C particles (B4CP). The influence of tool rotational speeds, powder particle sizes, and change in tool travel direction between FSP passes on particle distribution and resulting properties were studied in detail. Change in tool travel direction, decreased tool rotation speed and fine B4C particles enhanced B4CP distribution and wear properties thereof. Wear resistance of composites were doubled on account of the B4CP distribution and resultant several strengthening mechanisms.
Contactless generation of cavitation in high temperature liquid metals and its impact on particle dispersion in solidified iron and steel samples

Abstract A recently developed method for the contactless magnetic generation of cavitation is demonstrated for high-melting-point metals. The approach is based on the floating-zone technique, which is truly contactless and crucible-free as it uses electromagnetic forces. Using this method, ultra-high-temperature ceramic particles, such as TiN, TiB2 and TiC, are admixed in liquid iron and 316L steel. The dispersion and particle refinement caused by cavitation treatment during melting and solidification are investigated. The synthesis of optimal controllers for vibrational protection of large-scale structures with multiple actuation devices and partial state information is a challenging problem. Higher Degree F-transforms Based on B-splines of Two Variables

The paper deals with the higher degree fuzzy transforms (F-transforms with polynomial components) for functions of two variables in the case when two-dimensional generalized fuzzy partition is given by B-splines of two variables. We investigate properties of the direct and inverse F-transform in this case and prove that using B-splines as basic functions of fuzzy partition allows us to improve the quality of approximation.
Adjusted bat algorithm for tuning of support vector machine parameters

Support vector machines are powerful and often used technique of supervised learning applied to classification. Quality of the constructed classifier can be improved by appropriate selection of the learning parameters. These parameters are often tuned using grid search with relatively large step. This optimization process can be done computationally more efficiently and more precisely using stochastic search metaheuristics. In this paper we propose adjusted bat algorithm for support vector machines parameter optimization and show that compared to the grid search it leads to a better classifier. It is generally agreed that the cohesion of cement paste occurs through the formation of a network of nanoparticles of a calcium-silicate-hydrate ("C-S-H"). However, the mechanism by which these particles develop this cohesion has not been established. Here we propose a dielectric continuum model which includes all ionic interactions within a dispersion of C-S-H particles. Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL) systems are used as efficient hydraulic barriers in landfills for the disposal of hazardous municipal wastes. Along with geotextiles, bentonite materials are chosen as one of the primary components of GCLs due to their high retention, adsorption, and swelling capacities. GCLs are manufactured using bentonites at a high total suction and hydrated through the uptake of liquid from the subsoil and the confined material as soon as they are installed. Bentonites may exhibit considerable volume change upon wetting.
