Interaction of Oxygen Partial Pressure and Energy Metabolism with the Relaxation Rate of Inorganic Phosphate: A 31P NMR Study

It is well known that oxygen molecules present in liquid or solid samples can shorten NMR spin-lattice relaxation times (T1) of the nucleus under investigation. Several studies have shown large decrements of 1H, 13C, and 19F relaxation times mediated by the O2 molecule (Lees and Muller, 1961; Ohuchi et al., 1979; Fishman et al., 1989). The positions of the 3lp atoms in phosphate compounds are stereometrically similar to some 13C atoms in organic compounds, and thus an effect of oxygen on the 31P T1 is expected. Enhancing Selectivity In Photocatalytic Formation Of P-Anisaldehyde In Aqueous Suspension Under Solar Light Irradiation Via Tio2 N-Doping

The photocatalytic partial oxidation of 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol to the corresponding aldehyde (p-anisaldehyde) was performed under simulated solar irradiation by using home prepared N-doped TiO2 catalysts. The photocatalysts were prepared by a sol–gel method, using TiCl4 as TiO2 precursor and NH4Cl, urea or NH4OH as N-doping sources. A commercial TiO2 (Degussa P25) was also used for comparison aims. The prepared catalysts were characterized by BET specific surface area, XRD, ESEM and UV-vis spectroscopy. A branched polyethylene with broad molecular weight distribution was separated into a series of fractions by fractional precipitation from dilute solution. The fractions were characterized by viscometric and density measurements, IR-spectroscopy and calorimetry. The methyl group content and the density turned out as largely constant. Molecular weight effects show up in the melting behaviour. The main range of melting and the end of the melting curve shift to lower temperatures with decreasing molecular weight. Ozone absorption in aqueous phenol solutions

Abstract The rate of ozone absorption in aqueous solutions of phenol was measured in a wetted-wall laboratory absorber. The liquid and gas flow rates were fixed as well as the pH and temperature. The phenol concentration was varied in the range 2–300 ppm and the ozone partial pressure over an eight fold range. The gas phase resistance to mass transfer was determined by absorbing SO2 from an SO2N2 mixture in KOH aqueous solutions. The results have been interpreted by means of a simple kinetic assumption.

Das hieraus berechnete molare Uberschusvolumen betragt −0,21 cm3/Mol bei einem Volumenbruch von 0,5.
