Individual Performance in Turbulent Environments: The Role of Organizational Learning Capability and Employee Flexibility

2015

Organizational learning capability (OLC) and employee flexibility help firms navigate the challenges faced by organizations operating in turbulent environments. OLC includes dimensions such as experimentation, risk taking, openness, dialogue, and participative decision making. Employee flexibility is considered a crucial tool for strategic human resource management in tackling environmental turbulence. Accordingly, we pose the following research question: how, and to what extent, is individual performance enhanced by OLC and employee flexibility in turbulent environments? The major impact that environmental turbulence has on change and flexibility requirements suggests that employee flexibi…

Primary double tooth with partial anodontia of permanent dentition - a case report

2010

Dental anomalies of number and forms may occur in the primary and permanent dentition. Various terms have been used to describe dental twinning anomalies: gemination, fusion, concrescence, double teeth, cojoined teeth, twinned teeth, geminifusion and vicinifusion. Double tooth is a term used to describe connate tooth and includes both dental fusion and gemination. The phenomenon of gemination occurs when two teeth develop from one single bud leading to a larger tooth. Fusion is a condition in which the crowns of two separate teeth have been joined toge- ther during the crown development. Fusion occurs infrequently but could cause esthetic, spacing and periodontal problems. The present artic…

Mechanical behavior of implant assisted removable partial denture for Kennedy class II

2019

Made available in DSpace on 2020-12-12T01:22:13Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2020-01-01 Background: This study evaluated the mechanical response of a removable partial denture (RPD) in Kennedy Class II according to being associated or not with implants. Material and Methods: Four RPDs were manufactured for a Kennedy Class II: CRPD-Conventional RPD, RPD+ 1M, RPD+2M and RPD+12M, respectively, signifying implant assisted RPDs with the implant installed in the first molar, second molar, and in the first and second molars. The finite element method was used to determine the most damaged support tooth under compressive load (300N, 10s) and strain gauge analysis was used to ev…

Evaluation of accuracy of various impression techniques and impression materials in recording multiple implants placed unilaterally in a partially ed…

2018

Background Various factors like implant angulation, type of impression material and tray type affects the implant impression accuracy. To date limited in-vitro studies were carried out on the implant impression accuracy of unilateral partially edentulous arches. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effects of 0o, 15o and 25o implant angulations on impression accuracy in simulated master casts of unilateral partially edentulous situation using different impression materials and tray selections. Material and Methods 30 replicas (N = 30) of a resin matrix (control) containing four implant analogues placed unilaterally from the midline till the region of second molar at an angulation of…

Oscillation results for second-order nonlinear neutral differential equations

2013

Published version of an article in the journal: Advances in Difference Equations. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1186/1687-1847-2013-336 Open Access We obtain several oscillation criteria for a class of second-order nonlinear neutral differential equations. New theorems extend a number of related results reported in the literature and can be used in cases where known theorems fail to apply. Two illustrative examples are provided.

Control of Oxygen Nonstoichiometry and Magnetic Property of MnCo2O4 Thin Films Grown by Atomic Layer Deposition

2010

Spinel-structured (Mn,Co)3O4 thin films were reproducibly fabricated by atomic layer deposition (ALD) using Mn(thd)3, Co(thd)2, and ozone as precursors. A full control of the cation ratio was achieved in the temperature interval 140−160 °C within which also the growth rate remained constant. Precise control of the oxygen content of as-deposited MnCo2O4+δ films was achieved through postdeposition heat treatments at prefixed temperatures in air and N2 atmospheres, as evidenced from the monotonous increases of both the unit cell volume and the Curie temperature (TC) with increasing annealing temperature/decreasing oxygen partial pressure. The TC value varied from 92 K for the as-deposited MnCo…

"Transition Amplitudes" of "Light isovector resonances in $\pi^- p \to \pi^-\pi^-\pi^+ p$ at 190 GeV/${\it c}$"

2018

Real and imaginary parts of the normalized transition amplitudes $\mathcal{T}_a$ of the 14 selected partial waves in the 1100 $(m_{3\pi}, t')$ cells (see Eq. (12) in the paper). The wave index $a$ represents the quantum numbers that uniquely define the partial wave. The quantum numbers are given by the shorthand notation $J^{PC} M^\varepsilon [$isobar$] \pi L$. We use this notation to label the transition amplitudes in the column headers. The $m_{3\pi}$ values that are given in the first column correspond to the bin centers. Each of the 100 $m_{3\pi}$ bins is 20 MeV/$c^2$ wide. Since the 11 $t'$ bins are non-equidistant, the lower and upper bounds of each $t'$ bin are given in the column he…

Evaluating Assessment. Validation with PLS-SEM of ATAE Scale for the Analysis of Assessment Tasks

2020

One of the essential functions of university teachers lies in the decision-making process regarding the various components included in assessment process design, where the quality of assessment tasks is a key aspect. This study presents both validation of an instrument for students to evaluate the assessment tasks and the model that upholds the relationships between constructs that characterise the assessment tasks. Working from a review of the literature, a theoretical model has been devised featuring the characteristics of the assessment tasks and the relationships between them. The Analysis of the Assessment and Learning Tasks questionnaire (ATAE) has been designed to check them, based o…

Technical and economical comparison between different topologies of PV plant under mismatch effect

2014

This paper presents a technical and economical comparative analysis between two topology of photovoltaic plant. In particular the performances of series-parallel (SP) and total cross tied (TCT), topologies are taken into account, referring to a partially shaded photovoltaic plant. Thanks to a simulation model developed, in the paper the mismatch effects due to three different shading conditions, for SP and TCT topology plant, are quantified. Since the TCT solution, even though increase the energy production, raise the complexity of plants as well as their costs, an evaluation of the individual costs of each component of a SP and TCT plant topology, as PV modules, support structure, inverter…
