A father’s mental health is important for family well-being, but research is scarce on paternal symptoms during the transition to fatherhood. This study identified fathers’ latent mental health trajectory classes from the pre- to postnatal period and examined their associations with early fathering experiences. The state of art of biological processes in paternal care

This review of the state of art aimed to present the most recent data on neuronal, neurochemical, hormonal and genetic bases of paternal care using MEDLINE and PsycInfo databases (1970-2013). An integrated model of biological substrates that assist men in the transition to fatherhood is presented. Guided by a genetic background, hypothalamic-midbrain-limbic-paralimbic-cortical circuits were found to be activated in fathers when infant stimuli are presented. A set of specifi c neuropeptides and steroid hormones are produced and seem to be related to brain activation, potentiating the paternal phenotype. Tutkimuksessa testattiin ilmastonmuutoksen vaikutuksia muikun (Coregonus albula) ja siian (C. lavaretus) alkioiden kuolevuuteen, alkioiden kasvuun, kuoriutumisaikaan ja kuoriutumiskokoon. Koejärjestely toteutettiin sekä muikulla että siialla yksilöllisinä ristiinhedelmöityksinä tavoitteena selvittää naaraan ja koiraan vaikutusta sekä niiden yhdysvaikutusta mitattaviin muuttujiin. Abstract Background: Management of anemia is a common therapeutic challenge in patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Luspatercept (ACE-536), a fusion protein containing modified activin receptor type IIB, is being developed for treatment of anemia in lower-risk MDS. Luspatercept binds GDF11 and other TGF-β superfamily ligands to promote late-stage erythroid differentiation and increase hemoglobin (Hgb) levels (Suragani R, Nat Med, 2014 and Attie K, Am J Hematol, 2014).
