Hantaviruses pose a public health concern worldwide causing haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS). Puumala virus (PUUV) is the most prevalent hantavirus in Central and Northern Europe, and causes a mild form of HFRS, also known as nephropathia epidemica (NE). In nature, the main host of PUUV is the bank vole (Myodes glareolus), and transmission to humans occurs through inhalation of aerosols from rodent excreta. Nephropathia epidemica is particularly prevalent in Nordic countries, however, few studies of PUUV have been performed in Norway. Oncolytic virotherapy is a recent addition to cancer treatment. Here, we describe positive treatment outcomes in three patients using Rigvir virotherapy. One of the patients is diagnosed with melanoma stage IV M1c, one with small cell lung cancer stage IIIA, and one with histiocytic sarcoma stage IV. The diagnoses of all patients are verified by histology or cytology. All patients started Rigvir treatment within a few months after being diagnosed and are currently continuing Rigvir treatment. Abundant calcifications and clear-cell change may occur in oncocytic thyroid adenoma (OTA). We aimed to report the features of a case of OTA peculiar by the presence of extensive calcifications and of a clear-cell component. The OTA was detected on a right thyroid lobectomy specimen. Clear-cell change was observed in 15%-20% of the cells. Numerous, focally confluent psammomatoid calcifications, resulting in macrocalcifications, were identified. The role of the immune response in breast cancer is now well recognized and increasingly taken in account. The goal of this article is, in the first part, to underline its prognostic impact and to precise the immunosurvelliance, immunoselection and the immunosubversion concepts involved in the control and evasion of breast carcinoma. In the second part, therapeutic strategies for the restauration of anti-tumor immunity are developed. Vaccination strategies and checkpoints inhibitors blockade strategies are discussed as well as the immunogenic death linked to the conventional treatments of breast cancer.
