Il volume indaga l’istinto di Carlo Scarpa (1906-1978) verso la bellezza. Da progettista, Santo Giunta si pone l’obiettivo di comprendere come il maestro veneziano, ritornando a Palermo agli inizi degli anni ‘70, sia riuscito a catturare, nella fisicità dello spazio costruito di palazzo Chiaromonte, detto Steri (Hosterium, palazzo fortificato), le relazioni essenziali tra questa architettura, opera trecentesca, e la città contemporanea. In the present work a piezoelectric based structural health monitoring (SHM) system is analyzed with the aim of assessing the ability of the piezoelectric patch to detect both edge and embedded delaminations proper of flange-skin composite laminated structures. he boundary element model is developed for piezoelectric solids and is implemented by taking advantage of the multidomain technique to model laminated and cracked configurations. The low weight, robustness and fatigue resistance of adhesive joints make them suitable for structural joints. A fully developed nondestructive evaluation technique however is needed to monitor and assess the quality of bonded joints. In the present paper the application of the electromechanical impedance (EMI) technique is proposed. In the EMI method a piezoelectric transducer (PZT) is attached to the structure of interest. Abilità geometriche e prospettiche si evidenziano nell’opera di Vito D’Anna, il cui ritmo compositivo genera dinamismo, con una resa spaziale illusionisticamente illimitata, la cui finalità è quella di sottintendere uno spazio che si estende ben oltre la rappresentazione. Virtuosistici esercizi di prospettiva, tipiche del barocco maturo, esaltano la forza allusiva insita nelle immagini spaziali. L’artificio scenografico adottato dall’artista tende a fondere il virtuale con il reale. La prospettiva conduce all’infinita rottura del limite, diventa allegoria dello spazio che stimola continue e imprevedibili sensazioni visive.
