This work studies the impact conditions between the adolescent pedestrian and the bus focusing on head and chest injury. The injury to the head is analyzed using both the Head Injury Criterion (HIC) 36 and the HIC15 parameters as established by the most advanced legislation and comparing the risk probability Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS3+) and AIS4+. The parameter HIC15 gives a higher probability of risk with lower values, and therefore it can be considered more conservative. DEVELOPMENT OF AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC MODEL FOR VEHICLE – PEDESTRIAN CRASH TEST

The purpose of this work is the achievement of an anthropomorphic model for the virtual simulation of pedestrian – vehicle crash test. “Dummy” construction in Visual Nastran room does possible the preparation of crash test with several vehicle models. Its three-dimensional geometry is implemented by video animation software, extracting the geometry element for element, and its characteristics are in keeping with EURONCAP protocol. Every bodily segment properties are determined using the reference material on the movement biomechanics. At last fall tests from three different heights are simulated for the “Dummy” validation, obtaining a reliable result.
A qualitative study on the role of the built environment for short walking trips

The present study uses a qualitative approach with the aim to identify built environmental factors influencing short walking distances for transportation among adults (18-65 years), with special attention to micro-scale attributes.
