Actual and perceived weight status and its association with slimming and energy-balance related behaviours in 10- to 12-year-old European children: t…
2016
Both parents' and children's perception of children's weight status may be important predictors of slimming and energy-balance related behaviours, independent of children's actual weight status.; We examined the cross-sectional association of children's self-reported slimming and energy-balance related behaviours with children's (i) actual, (ii) self-perceived and (iii) parent-perceived weight status.; Data of 10- to 12-year-old European children and their parents were used. Multilevel logistic and linear regression analyses were performed, adjusting for age, gender, parental weight controlling behaviours, education, marital status and ethnicity.; Independent of their actual weight status, …
Mathematical model of T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma: disease, treatment, cure or relapse of a virtual cohort of patients
2017
International audience; T lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) is a rare type of lymphoma with a good prognosis with a remission rate of 85%. Patients can be completely cured or can relapse during or after a 2-year treatment. Relapses usually occur early after the remission of the acute phase. The median time of relapse is equal to 1 year, after the occurrence of complete remission (range 0.2–5.9 years) (Uyttebroeck et al., 2008). It can be assumed that patients may be treated longer than necessary with undue toxicity. The aim of our model was to investigate whether the duration of the maintenance therapy could be reduced without increasing the risk of relapses and to determine the minimum treatm…
Population pharmacokinetic meta-analysis of individual data to design the first randomized efficacy trial of vancomycin in neonates and young infants.
2019
Abstract Objectives In the absence of consensus, the present meta-analysis was performed to determine an optimal dosing regimen of vancomycin for neonates. Methods A ‘meta-model’ with 4894 concentrations from 1631 neonates was built using NONMEM, and Monte Carlo simulations were performed to design an optimal intermittent infusion, aiming to reach a target AUC0–24 of 400 mg·h/L at steady-state in at least 80% of neonates. Results A two-compartment model best fitted the data. Current weight, postmenstrual age (PMA) and serum creatinine were the significant covariates for CL. After model validation, simulations showed that a loading dose (25 mg/kg) and a maintenance dose (15 mg/kg q12h if <…
7q31.32 partial duplication: First report of a child with dysmorphism, autistic spectrum disorder, moderate intellectual disability and, epilepsy. Li…
2019
Abstract Introduction Duplication of long arm of chromosome 7(q) is uncommon. It may occur as “pure”, isolated anomaly or in association with other mutations involving the same or other chromosomes. “Pure” chromosome 7q duplication has recently been classified by segment involved: the interstitial, proximal, or distal segment of the arm. Attempts to correlate genotype with phenotype in each group has yielded questionable results even though intellective disability and minor dysmorphic features of variable types are typically seen. Material and Methods In a young boy showing minor facial dysmorphism, language delay, autistic spectrum disorder, epileptic seizures, behavioral disturbances and …

Narrowing the Genetic Causes of Language Dysfunction in the 1q21.1 Microduplication Syndrome
2018
The chromosome 1q21.1 duplication syndrome (OMIM# 612475) is characterized by head anomalies, mild facial dysmorphisms, and cognitive problems, including autistic features, mental retardation, developmental delay, and learning disabilities. Speech and language development are sometimes impaired, but no detailed characterization of language problems in this condition has been provided to date. We report in detail on the cognitive and language phenotype of a child who presents with a duplication in 1q21.1 (arr[hg19] 1q21.1q21.2(145,764,455-147,824,207) × 3), and who exhibits cognitive delay and behavioral disturbances. Language is significantly perturbed, being the expressive domain the most …
P285 The ‘real-life’ copd patient in the age of laba/lamas: an expansion of the daccord study
2016
Introduction The prospective, non-interventional DACCORD study collects data from a representative cohort of COPD out-patients across Germany who either initiated or changed COPD maintenance medication prior to entry. Initially, DACCORD consisted of two treatment groups (Glycopyrronium-based therapy vs. any other COPD maintenance medication with the exception of Glycopyrronium). Following the approval of LABA/LAMA fixed-dose combinations (FDC) in 2013, DACCORD was extended to follow an additional cohort of patients receiving any LABA/LAMA FDC over a period of 2 years. Methods 5223 patients with complete baseline data (3815 LAMA/LABA FDC vs. 1408 standard treatment group) were analysed here.…
Sentinel hospital-based surveillance for norovirus infection in children with gastroenteritis between 2015 and 2016 in Italy
2018
Noroviruses are one of the leading causes of gastro-enteric diseases worldwide in all age groups. Novel epidemic noroviruses with GII.P16 polymerase and GII.2 or GII.4 capsid type have emerged worldwide in late 2015 and in 2016. We performed a molecular epidemiological study of the noroviruses circulating in Italy to investigate the emergence of new norovirus strains. Sentinel hospital-based surveillance, in three different Italian regions, revealed increased prevalence of norovirus infection in children (<15 years) in 2016 (14.4% versus 9.8% in 2015) and the emergence of GII.P16 strains in late 2016, which accounted for 23.0% of norovirus infections. The majority of the strains with a GII.…
Cosavirus, Salivirus and Bufavirus in Diarrheal Tunisian Infants
2016
International audience; Three newly discovered viruses have been recently described in diarrheal patients: Cosa-virus (CosV) and Salivirus (SalV), two picornaviruses, and Bufavirus (BuV), a parvovirus. The detection rate and the role of these viruses remain to be established in acute gastroen-teritis (AGE) in diarrheal Tunisian infants. From October 2010 through March 2012, stool samples were collected from 203 children <5 years-old suffering from AGE and attending the Children's Hospital in Monastir, Tunisia. All samples were screened for CosV, SalV and BuV as well as for norovirus (NoV) and group A rotavirus (RVA) by molecular biology. Positive samples for the three screened viruses were …
A stiff extracellular matrix is associated with malignancy in peripheral neuroblastic tumors
2017
Purpose and objective Improved prognosis for patients with peripheral neuroblastic tumors (PNB) depends on enhanced pretreatment risk stratification combined with research into new therapeutic targets. This study investigated the potential contribution of extracellular matrix (ECM) elements toward this endeavor. Methods We characterized certain elements such as reticulin fibers, collagen type I fibers, and elastic fibers by digital pathology in almost 400 untreated PNB. Results A reticular and poorly porous ECM was identified in neuroblastomas (NBs) from patients with clinical and biological features associated with poor prognosis compared with a loose and permeable matrix found in NBs of t…
