Il testo ripercorre le tappe che hanno condotto alla realizzazione di una delle più vaste opere pubbliche di stampo sanitario realizzate a Palermo nel XIX secolo: l'Ospedale Psichiatrico alla Vignicella. Tramite l’individuazione e l’analisi delle principali fonti ottocentesche e dei primissimi del Novecento, pur confrontandosi con la più recente letteratura periegetica, si fissano alcuni punti fermi rispetto alla progettazione ed esecuzione dei lavori, oltre che, non di meno, in relazione alla concezione scientifica sulle quali erano state fondate. Understanding Mentoring Within an Ecosystem of Practices

The aim of this article is to introduce an ecosystemic approach to mentoring, inspired by the theory of ecologies of practices (Kemmis, Edwards-Groves, Wilkinson, & Hardy, 2012). It is suggested that relationships between practices and their environment resemble in many ways the relationships between natural organisms and ecosystems. From this perspective, mentoring is understood as a social practice that exists in the midst of other social practices and derives its essential qualities and its existence from its relation to other practices. Il saggio propone un'analisi del Codice antimafia approvato nell'ultimo scorcio del periodo di attività del governo Berlusconi. Più che soffermarsi su quanto in esso contenuto il saggio mette in evidenza quanto, nella stesusa del Codice, è stato omesso o taciuto. L’immagine che emerge delle organizzazioni criminali non tiene conto delle profonde evoluzioni attraversate negli anni. E la centralità della formazione e della cultura, pilastri fondamentali per coadiuvare le azioni di contrasto, non sono in alcun modo riconosciute.

The starting point of the study is the work counselling process taking place in the induction phase of the students’ teaching career. The work counselling process consists of activities that support and strengthen the students’ teacher hood and their primary function as teachers by helping them to analyse their work and to attach to working life as newly graduated teachers. In this study, we use contextualisation and storytelling in the frameworks of positive pedagogy and systems theory to reflect on the students’ growth process as teachers.
