Intersectionalities, dis/abilities and subjectification in deaf LGBT people: An exploratory study in Sicily
2016
The article discusses the multiple discrimination, normalization and stigmatization experienced by deaf LGBT youth in Sicily, Italy, on the basis of a study of their everyday life (specifically school years and peer interactions). So far in Italy, very little attention has been paid to multiple discrimination and, specifically, to homophobic violence towards disabled individuals. It is, therefore, impossible to consider any valid sampling of the desired population and very few reports have been produced. The authors, a sociologist and a psychologist, carry out an analysis of the results obtained from interviews with 15 LGBT individuals recruited through social networks, thematic chats, and …
Subjectivation, togetherness, environment. Potentials of participatory art for Art Education for Sustainable Development (AESD)
2017
Through a process-oriented analysis of the participatory art project The Hill this article explores the relevance of participatory art projects for the development of AESD – Art Education for Sustainable Development. Inspired by Felix Guattari’s Three Ecologies (2008) the analysis moves through three sub-studies delving into three different aspects of the project. Each sub-study adopts two overlapping analytical ‘lenses’: The lens of a contemporary art form (performance art, community art, and site-specific art) and the lens of a related theoretical concept (subjectivation, togetherness, environment). The aim is to propose art educational ideas and strategies that stimulate students to chal…

María de Fonseca (c. 1486-1521) and the Marquis of Zenete (1473-1523): Aristocratic Rebels and Patrons of Renaissance Culture
2016

2005
Friar-architects carried out important projects in the Valencia area. These monks, who combined architectural with spiritual labors, accomplished works in which they knew how to combine tradition with new architectural tendencies. The church of St. Michael Archangel of Burjassot by Friar Francisco de Santa Bárbara, provides the chance to study this constructive phenomenon in relation to its doorway and twin altarpieces at the crossing. Without doubt, these structures demonstrate the direct influence of the Jesuit Andrea Pozzo's treatise Perspectiva Pictorum et Architectorum (1693-1700), which had a broad repercussion in the Valencia region.

2009
Recent exhibitions produced by the Foundation La Luz de las Imágenes in Valencian dioceses has allowed for numerous works of art to be seen, admired and studied under optimal conditions. In this context we offer an approach to the workshop of the Requena family, painters active in the Kingdom of Valencia between approximately 1531 and 1605. These artists, in their uneven production, owed much to Paolo da San Leocadio, the Hernandos and particularly, Joan de Joanes.

On the Reception of Grassmann’s Work in Germany during the 1870’s
1996
It has often been remarked that Grassmann’s mathematics was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. Although awareness of the dimensions of his achievements began to spread in the early 1870’s, even in Germany relatively few mathematicians appear to have been well acquainted with either the original 1844 edition of Grassmann’s Ausdehnungslehre or the mathematically more accessible edition of 1862. The main reasons for this weak and rather delayed reception have been described often enough---Grassmann’s isolated working environment and his nearly impenetrable language---but there are a number of related aspects that still deserve closer consideration.1
