Designing dynamic performance management systems to foster SME competitiveness according to a sustainable development perspective: empirical evidence…
2015
The role of performance management (PM) systems has become crucial for steering small-medium enterprises (SMEs) to successfully compete during the ongoing critical economic transition. To improve decision-maker strategic learning processes, traditional PM frameworks need to be combined with system dynamics (SD) modelling. This paper shows how to design and use a dynamic performance management (DPM) approach to assess and support SMEs competitiveness according to a sustainable development perspective. The emerging framework is applied to a real case of an Italian small business to analyse the empirical effectiveness of the approach hereby suggested.
Exploring the opportunities and challenges of european design policy to enable innovation. The case of designscapes project
2020
Design policy for innovation and prosperity has been acknowledged and adopted globally. Existing literature on design policy usually adopts a top-down perspective to analyse the components of the design innovation system and ignores the practical needs of practitioners. Our study aims to explore potential opportunities and challenges of design policies for design-enabled innovation from a bottom-up perspective. We firstly discussed the enabling role of design in the context of design as input, output and process of innovation with emphasis on design-enabled innovation conception
PROBLEMATICS OF AMENDMENTS MADE IN TENDER DOCUMENTS IN PUBLIC PROCUREMENT – THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN UNION
2020
During the procurement process, it is often found that the tenders submitted are deficient, for example, required documents are not submitted. Given the amount of information to be provided, the types of errors are different and can apply to the qualification of the tenderer, its technical or financial tender and other aspects. In each of these situation procurement commission must evaluate whether it is possible to correct the error or the tender should be rejected. The Public Procurement Law does not contain very detailed and clear regulation on this situation. Therefore decisions of contracting authorities are often challenged and found to be unfounded. It justifies the topicality of the…

Comparing the Control-Flow of EPC and Petri Net from the End-User Perspective
2005
This contribution describes the results of a laboratory experiment which compares the Event-driven Process Chain (EPC) and Petri net (C/E net) regarding their approaches to represent the control-flow of processes. The outcome of the experiment indicates that from end-user perspective the EPC approach of applying connectors is superior to the token game. However, the non-local semantic of the EPC OR-connector clearly had a negative impact on end-user comprehension. The experiment also illustrates that the perceived ease-of-use and the intention to use the EPC notation is higher than C/E net.

Sulla domanda di storia del pensiero economico. Alcune evidenze, alcune riflessioni
2020
In this chapter we offer a presentation of the current state and possible evolution of studies in the History of Economic Thought.…
Secretory Pathway Research: The More Experimental Systems the Better
2012
Transient gene expression, in plant protoplasts or specific plant tissues, is a key technique in plant molecular cell biology, aimed at exploring gene products and their modifications to examine functional subdomains, their interactions with other biomolecules, and their subcellular localization. Here, we highlight some of the major advantages and potential pitfalls of the most commonly used transient gene expression models and illustrate how ectopic expression and the use of dominant mutants can provide insights into protein function.
On temporal deixis and cognitive models in early Indo-European
2013
Crosslinguistic evidence suggest that there are two different (often coexistent) basic cognitive models for time, on the basis of which the world’s languages express time in terms of conceptual metaphor from the source spatial domain to the target temporal domain: i) the Time-based (Time-Reference-Point) model, in which time is conceptualized in terms of sequentially arrayed objects moving in space, so that a temporal event is relative to another earlier or later temporal event; ii) the Ego-based (Ego-Reference-Point) model, which is considered to have a more complex structure in which times are conceptualized as objects relative to a canonical deictic observer (Ego) located at the hic et n…
