In his 1895 adaptation of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata prepared for the Kraków Theatre, Stanisław Koźmian, wishing to avoid stage ‘archaeologism,’ based the text on the contemporary adaptation by Charles Maurice Don- nay, to which he added several scenes taken from the Greek original. The ambitious plan to translate a theatrical experience from over two thousand years ago into the language of modern communication was achieved by introducing contemporary political allusions. Thioethers, except derivatives of [7-R-7,8-C2B9H11] , are more weakly coordinating ligands than phosphanes. This difference is evidenced by the I I distances in the spokeshaped charge-transfer (CT) complexes R2S·I2 and R3P·I2 (Figure 1). The I I distance is sensitive to the strength of the interaction between the s* LUMO orbital on I2 and the HOMO orbital of the donor atom: the stronger the donor, the longer the I I distance. In these spoke CT complexes, the I I distance varies from 3.2 0.2 7 in R3P·I2 adducts [5] to 2.80 0.05 7 in R2S·I2 adducts, [6] indicating the weaker donor character of the thioether group. Violenza ed emozione comica nel teatro di Aristofane

The article shows the specificity of comic violence, quite different from the epic and the tragic one. With the exception of the farcical scenes of beating and whacking, violence is effectively absent, but left only to the words, death is threatened with grotesque and ridiculous ways, as it shown in the parody of Telephus in the scene of the threat of killing the little Orestes, in Acharnians and Thesmophoriazusae, with the use of reification. Then, it is claimed that the absence of violence in comedy scene is determined by the deliberate will of the poet to exclude from its theater the constituent element of the tragic genre, opposite and complementary to the comic.

Abstract The reaction of N-Boc triprotected cyclam with bis(chloromethyl)biphenyl followed by the corresponding deprotection of the nitrogen atoms allows the preparation of receptor 3 containing an azonia spiro subunit. This receptor shows slightly increased basicity than cyclam, in particular for the formation of the appropriate triply charged species as a consequence of the reduced capacity of the structure present in 3 to stabilize the species with lower protonation degrees through the formation of intramolecular hydrogen bonds. Zn2+ and Cu2+ complexes of a fluorescent scorpiand-type oxadiazole azamacrocyclic ligand: crystal structures, solution studies and optical properties

A ligand comprised of a macrocyclic pyridinophane core having a pendant arm containing a secondary amine group linked through a methylene spacer to a pyridyl–oxadiazole–phenyl (PyPD) fluorescent system has been prepared (L). The crystal structures of [ZnL](ClO4)2 and [CuL](ClO4)2 show that M2+ is coordinated to all the nitrogen atoms of the macrocyclic core, the secondary amine of the pendant arm and the nitrogen atom of the pyridine group of the fluorescent moiety, the latter bond being clearly weaker than the one with the pyridine of the macrocycle. P-C Cross-Coupling Onto Enamides: Versatile Synthesis of α-Enamido Phosphane Derivatives

We report herein the Pd-catalyzed P–C cross-coupling reac- tion between enol phosphates and secondary phosphane–bor- ane complexes or phosphane oxides. The reaction was per- formed under mild conditions, owing to Pd activation of the P–H bonds of the phosphane–boranes (or phosphane oxides) and to the powerful enol phosphate coupling reagents. New useful chiral and achiral α - β -alkenylphosphane derivatives bearing an amido group in the α -position to the P center were obtained in yields up to 70 %.
Līderisms putnu daudzsugu grupās un tā noteikšanas metodes

Šī darba mērķis bija ziemojošo zīlīšu daudzsugu grupās noteikt līdersugu - sugu, uz kuras radīto akustisko informāciju (mobinga saucieniem) visvairāk reaģēs pārējie sociālās grupas dalībnieki. Tika izmantota akustiskā mobinga sauciena ierakstīšanas metode. Pētījumā aprakstīta ziemojošo daudzsugu putnu grupas dalībnieku reakcija uz pelēkās zīlītes Poecile montanus un cekulzīlītes Lophophanes cristatus mobinga saucieniem. Barotavās konstatēja četras sugas, kuras aktīvi reaģēja uz mobinga saucienu ierakstiem – pelēkās zīlītes, cekulzīlītes, meža zīlītes un dzilnīši. Visaktīvākā reakcija tika novērota uz pelēkās zīlītes mobinga saucieniem. Secināts, ka pelēkā zīlīte ir līdersuga ziemojošo zīlīš…
