Gelled Electrolyte Containing Phosphonium Ionic Liquids for Lithium-Ion Batteries
2018
In this work, new gelled electrolytes were prepared based on a mixture containing phosphonium ionic liquid (IL) composed of trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium cation combined with bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide [TFSI] counter anions and lithium salt, confined in a host network made from an epoxy prepolymer and amine hardener. We have demonstrated that the addition of electrolyte plays a key role on the kinetics of polymerization but also on the final properties of epoxy networks, especially thermal, thermo-mechanical, transport, and electrochemical properties. Thus, polymer electrolytes with excellent thermal stability (>
Coumarin-Phosphine-Based Smart Probes for Tracking Biologically Relevant Metal Complexes: From Theoretical to Biological Investigations
2016
International audience; Ten metal-based complexes and associated ligands have been synthesized and characterized. One of the metal ligands is a coumarin-phosphine derivative, which displays tunable fluorescence properties. The fluorescence is quenched in the case of the free ligand and ruthenium and osmium complexes, whereas it is strong for the gold complexes and phosphonium derivatives. These trends were rationalized by theoretical calculations, which revealed non-radiative channels involving a dark state for the free ligands that is lower in energy than the emissive state and is responsible for the quenching of fluorescence. For the Ru-II and Os-II complexes, other non-radiative channels…

Influence of Anion and Cation Structure of Ionic Liquids on Carboxylic Acids Extraction
2019
A recently proposed new mechanism and a model of reactive extraction of carboxylic acids by hydrophobic ionic liquids (ILs) was tested on five systems from published as well as from new equilibrium data on liquid-liquid extraction of butyric and lactic acids (BA and LA) from aqueous solutions. Two phosphonium and one ammonium ILs were used. The model describes experimental data for all systems with a good fit. The mechanism of acid extraction by ILs is very similar for all tested systems. This indicates a more general validity of the developed model. The model allows deeper understanding of regularities in carboxylic acid extraction by hydrophobic ILs. Stability constants of the first acid-…
Designing Silylatedl-Amino Acids using a Wittig Strategy: Synthesis of Peptide Derivatives and18F-Labelling
2017
An efficient semisynthesis of silylated l-amino acids by reaction of silylated benzaldehydes with a phosphonium l-amino acid used as a Wittig reagent is described. The efficiency of the silylated l-amino acids in peptide synthesis was investigated by coupling both the carboxylic acid and the amino moiety with l-alanine and phenylalanine derivatives, respectively. The silylated derivatives were treated with KF or tetrabutylammonium fluoride to give the corresponding fluorosilyl derivatives without racemization. The hydrolysis of the fluorosilylated derivatives in phosphate buffer at pH 7.2 was checked. Finally, the 18F-labelling of di-tert-butylsilylated saturated and unsaturated dipeptides …
LC Ionomers with Phosphonate Groups and Their Multilayer Build-Up
2002
This paper describes the synthesis of new liquid-crystalline (LC) ionomers (semiflexible LC mainchain polymers with ionic groups as side groups) by polycondensation of substituted malonates with mesogenic diols. Phosphonic acids were used as negative groups, and phosphonium and ammonium ions as positive groups. The presence of these ionic groups leads to gelation (physical crosslinking) of the polymers, which display a rubbery consistency. As expected from the reference polymers without an ionic group, all polymers show smectic phases. These phases are destabilized by bulky side groups (e.g., phosphonium ions or phosphonic acid esters). They are, however, stabilized by phosphonic acid group…
o-Boronato- and o-Trifluoroborato-Phosphonium Salts Supported by L-α-Amino Acid Side Chain.
2015
The synthesis of o-boronato- and o-trifluoroborato-phosphonium salts supported by the L-amino acid side chain is described. The synthesis of these new class of amino acid derivatives was achieved by stereoselective quaternization of o-(pinacolato)boronatophenylphosphine with β- or γ-iodo amino acid derivatives which are prepared from L-serine or L-aspartic acid, respectively. The quaternization of the phosphine was performed using either iodo amino ester or carboxylic acid derivatives. In addition, free carboxylic acid and amine derivatives were obtained by saponification or HCl acidolysis of o-boronato-phosphonium amino esters, respectively. The usefulness of these compounds in peptide cou…
