Multifunctional mononuclear iron( ) complex coordinated with six phosphorescent ligands exhibiting correlated spin-crossover transition and enhanced fluorescence.
Efficient photoluminescent thin films consisting of anchored hybrid perovskite nanoparticles
2016
Methylammonium lead bromide nanoparticles are synthetized with a new ligand (11-aminoundecanoic acid hydrobromide) by a non-template method. Upon dispersion in toluene they show a remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of 80%. In addition, the bifunctional ligand allows anchoring of the nanoparticles on a variety of conducting and semiconducting surfaces, showing bright photoluminescence with a quantum yield exceeding 50%. This opens a path for the simple and inexpensive preparation of multilayer light-emitting devices. Photoluminescent hybrid nanomaterials from modified halloysite nanotubes
2018
The synthesis of photoluminescent nanomaterials based on halloysite nanotubes is described. The obtained hybrid was characterized by means of TGA, FT-IR, DLS and XPS measurements; in addition its morphology was imaged by TEM and HR-TEM. The HNT hybrid also exhibited photoluminescent properties, both in solution and in the solid state, and white-light emission (0.24, 0.36; CIE coordinates) was observed. This work could be pioneering as a new strategy for manufacturing both LEDs and fluorescent tags based on HNT nanomaterials. © 2018 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
Photoluminescence of Carbon Dots Embedded in a SiO2 Matrix
2016
Abstract We synthetized carbon dots by a pyrolitic method, and studied their photoluminescence in aqueous environment and upon trapping in a solid matrix. To this aim, we devised a facile procedure allowing to embed the dots in amorphous SiO2, without the need of any pre-functionalization of the nanoparticles, and capable of yielding a brightly photoluminescent monolith. Experimental data reveal a remarkable similarity between the emission properties of carbon dots in water and in SiO2, suggesting that the chromophores responsible of the photoluminescence undergo only weak interactions with the environment. Time-resolved photoluminescence data reveal that the typical photoluminescence tunab…
Optimisation of photoluminescent painting treatments on different surface layers
2016
Improving drivers visibility in night time conditions is vital. Night-time visibility represents one of the most important features of road safety. Within such context, the use of photoluminescent road markings could represent an enhancement with regard to road safety. Consequently, the objective of the investigation here described was confined into the analysis of photoluminescent paints by referring to dense-graded and open-graded friction courses. Measurements, based on photometry technique, were carried out in the laboratory. Cores extracted from the surface layer of known pavements were used. Transitory effects (charge and discharge) and decay phenomena were investigated and modelled a…
