The resemblance of an autocorrelation function to a power spectrum density for a spike train of an auditory model

In this work we develop an analytical approach for calculation of the all-order interspike interval density (AOISID), show its connection with the autocorrelation function, and try to explain the discovered resemblance of AOISID to the power spectrum of the same spike train.

Quality control of pharmaceuticals containing non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs by micellar liquid chromatography

A liquid chromatographic procedure is described for the determination of acemetacin, diclofenac, indomethacin, ketoprofen, nabumetone, naproxen, piketoprofen, and tolmentin in pharmaceutical preparations. The compounds were separated on a Kromasil C18 analytical column, with a guard column of similar characteristics; the mobile phase was 0.06 M cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, at pH 7, containing 10% 1-butanol. At a flow rate of 1 mL min−1 the elution time of the most retained compound was 23 min. Limits of detection were between 0.01 μ g mL−1 for diclofenac and 0.2 μ g mL−1 for naproxen. Fluence Rate or Cumulative Dose? Vulnerability of Larval Northern Pike (Esox lucius) to Ultraviolet Radiation

Newly hatched larvae of northern pike were exposed in the laboratory to four fluence rates of ultraviolet radiation (UVR; 290-400 nm) over three different time periods, resulting in total doses ranging from 3.0 +/- 0.2 to 63.0 +/- 4.4 kJ.m(-2). Mortality and behavior of the larvae were followed for 8-12 days, and growth measured at the end of the experiment. Also, the principle of reciprocity-that the UVR-induced mortality depends on the cumulative dose, independent of fluence rate-was tested. Self-organization of repetitive spike patterns in developing neuronal networks in vitro

The appearance of spontaneous correlated activity is a fundamental feature of developing neuronal networks in vivo and in vitro. To elucidate whether the ontogeny of correlated activity is paralleled by the appearance of specific spike patterns we used a template-matching algorithm to detect repetitive spike patterns in multi-electrode array recordings from cultures of dissociated mouse neocortical neurons between 6 and 15 days in vitro (div). Temporal patterns of action potentials influence a variety of activity-dependent intra- and intercellular processes and play an important role in theories of neural coding. Abstract There is limited information on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) T‐cell immune responses in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19).
