Efficient synthesis of copillar[5]arenes and their host–guest properties with dibromoalkanes
2011
An efficient method for the synthesis of copillar[5]arenes was developed with FeCl(3) as catalyst and different 1,4-dialkoxybenzenes and paraformaldehyde as reactants (yields: 50-85%). The host-guest property of (co)pillar[5]arenes and terminal dibromoalkanes was investigated by (1)H NMR measurements and an X-ray study. The complexation behavior of the copillar[5]arenes can be tuned by changing the substituents on the host. A complete complexation selectivity was found between pillar[5]- and pillar[6]arenes, which is an interesting aspect for sensor techniques.

China Spillovers: New Evidence from Time-Varying Estimates
2017
The recent ârebalancingâ of Chinaâs economy has raised concerns that the countryâs growth slowdown may have large global implications. This note looks at this issue by analyzing the effects of Chinaâs growth shocks on the output of other countries and how these effects have changed over time. Estimates indicate that the magnitude of Chinaâs spillovers has steadily increased during the last two decades, but remains yet limited. Spillovers are larger in neighboring (Asian) countries and in emerging markets and developing economies. Trade linkages remain main transmission channels. In addition, a negative shock in China has (marginal) positive effects for net commodity importers wh…
On Imported and Domestic Human Papillomavirus Vaccines: Cognition, Attitude, and Willingness to Pay in Chinese Medical Students
2022
This study aimed to analyze the cognition, attitude, and willingness to pay (WTP) for imported and domestic human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in Chinese medical students.MethodsMedical students in Eastern, Central and Western China were investigated. We used the HPV cognitive list to measure the cognition of participants and implemented contingent valuation method (CVM) to value WTP. Tobit model was used to analyze the factors associated with WTP.ResultsThe participants' average score for the 21 cognitive questions was 13.05 (±5.09). Among the participants, 60.82 and 88.01% reported that they would wish to be vaccinated and support the partners to be vaccinated. In addition, 92.54% (670) …
Comparative analysis of short tandem repeats and single nucleotide polymorphisms on the Y-chromosome in Germans, Chinese and Thais.
2003
We have typed genomic DNA samples from 95 individuals from Western Germany, 78 individuals from Bangkok/Thailand and 56 individuals from Chengdu/China for 11 Y-chromosomal diallelic polymorphisms and eight short tandem repeat (STR) systems. For single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis, a rapid method was applied using the single base extension technology (minisequencing) in combination with capillary electrophoresis. PCR products for SRY-8299, Tat, SRY2627, 92R7, SRY1532, M9, M13, M17/M19 and M20 were pooled and used as templates for the commercially available SNaPshot kit. In addition to these ten SNPs we also tested the Y-chromosomal diallelic Alu repeat insertion DYS287 (YAP) by aga…

Determination of the Stability Constants of the Acetate Complexes of the Actinides Am(III), Th(IV), Np(V), and U(VI) Using Capillary Electrophoresis-…
2019
Capillary electrophoresis-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (CE-ICP-MS) was used to determine the stability constants of the actinides Am(III), Th(IV), Np(V), and U(VI) at an ionic strength of I = 0.3 M. The obtained stability constants were extrapolated to zero ionic strength by means of the Davies equation. For both U(VI) and Am(III), three consecutive acetate complexes with log(β
A new ionic liquid dimethyldinonylammonium bromide as a flow modifier for the simultaneous determination of eight carboxylates by capillary electroph…
2005
Two new methods of capillary zone electrophoresis based on aqueous phosphate running buffers with UV spectrophotometric detection were developed and optimized for the determination of eight carboxylates as copper complexes. Metalcomplexes are negatively charged, so measurements were made as anion analyses with flow reversal in the capillary. Two flow modifiers were used: a common tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide (TTAB) and a new ionic liquid dimethyldinonylammonium bromide (DMDNAB). The methods were compared to each other. Better separation was achieved with DMDNAB as the flow modifier. Method development was done using a fused silica capillary (61 cm x 50 microm i.d.). Optimization was …

Glass capillary gas chromatography of chlorinated methyl acetates, propanoates and butanoates on Carbowax 20M and SE-30 columns
1982
The gas chromatography of all chlorinated methyl acetates, methyl propanoates and methyl mono- and dichlorobutanoates has been studied on Carbowax 20M and SE-30 glass capillary columns under various running conditions. The order of elution on a non-polar column was largely determined by the boiling point of esters, whereas on a polar column it was much influenced by the structure of compounds. Complete separation of the combined mixture of all 27 compounds could not be achieved, however, methyl 3,3-dichlorobutanoate was the only ester overlapped on both columns in spite of the various column temperatures used. The best separation of the mixture was on Carbowax 20M with a temperature program…
