Classical theories of attitude change point to the positive effect of source expertise on perceived source credibility persuasion, but there is an ongoing societal debate on the increase in anti-elitist sentiments and conspiracy theories regarding the allegedly untrustworthy power elite. Doświadczenia w pracy harcerskiej przygotowały go wyzwań, które przyniosła drugiej wojna światowa. Kamiński był bardzo zaangażowany w budowę wojennych struktur harcerskich i działalność konspiracyjną. Ważną działalnością jego było redagowanie „Biuletynu Informacyjnego” Armii Krajowej oraz pisarstwo, które podkreślało realność walki z niemieckim okupantem. Drawing from cognitive dissonance and neutralization theories, this study seeks to improve the understanding on consumer decision-making between the current legal and illegal video consumption alternatives. We develop and test a research model featuring Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) satisfaction and various dimensions of SVOD quality as antecedents of video piracy neutralizations and attitudes. Based on results from an online survey among Finnish SVOD users, SVOD satisfaction is primarily determined by content quality, and has a small negative effect on attitude toward piracy through decreased piracy neutralization. Based on the analysis of one specific conspiracy theory, this paper will explore, from the rhetorical framework, the antic concept of likelihood [eikos]. Indeed, we believe that the rhetorical approach could allow us, on a larger scale, to (re)question, in the light of contemporary challenges, the complex relationship we have with the notions of rationality and truth.
