The first annelated bis- and mono-3H-1,3-azaphosphole ferrocene sandwich compounds have been synthesized from aminoferrocenes, and their X-ray structures are compared to those of their selenide-protected P═Se analogues, showing net discrepancies both in metallocene backbone conformation and in fused-ring planarity.

ABSTRACT In this paper we present an interfacial finite element designed for analysing planar interfaces in a three-dimensional approach. The element is derived from Hellinger-Reissner's mixed variational principle and takes into account the continuity of the displacement and of the transverse stress components through the interface. Stress analysis of a sandwich plate is made to assess the validity and the effectiveness of the element models, with comparisons to closed-form and numerical solutions.
Removing Leakage and Surface Recombination in Planar Perovskite Solar Cells

Thin-film solar cells suffer from various types of recombination, of which leakage current usually dominates at lower voltages. Herein, we demonstrate first a three-order reduction of the shunt loss mechanism in planar methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells by replacing the commonly used hole transport layer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) with a better hole-selective polyarylamine. As a result, these cells exhibit superior operation under reduced light conditions, which we demonstrate for the extreme case of moonlight irradiance, at which open-circuit voltages of 530 mV can still be obtained. Abstract Four new diorganotin(IV), (R = Me, Bu), and triorganotin(IV), (R = Me, Ph), derivatives of the phosphomycin disodium salt antibiotic[(1R,2S)-1,2-epoxypropylphosphonate]Na2 have been synthesized and their solid state configuration studied by X-ray crystallography, FT-IR, Mossbauer, UV–Vis spectroscopies. The X-ray diffraction investigation, performed on the bis[trimethyltin(IV)]phosphomycin, showed that the coordination geometry at all the Sn atoms is trigonal bipyramidal. The structure of the complex forms an unusual polymeric zig-zag planar network. (Electric) polarization tensors describe part of the leading order term of asymptotic voltage perturbations caused by low volume fraction inhomogeneities of the electrical properties of a medium. They depend on the geometry of the support of the inhomogeneities and on their admittivity contrast. Manipulating and squeezing the photon local density of states with plasmonic nanoparticle networks

International audience; In this Brief Report, we show that when interconnected networks of gold particles are deposited onto a clean planar surface, they strongly modify the photonic local density of states LDOS in the immediate proximity of the self-assembled nanoparticles. They represent unique architectures for the subwavelength patterning of initially flat photonic LDOS. Moreover, we show that their local spectral signatures are well suited for the generation of sites able to enhance molecular fluorescence intensity.

Dans cet article, nous rendons compte des pratiques d’essaimage d’initiatives locales de transition portées par des collectifs citoyens et associatifs en région Bourgogne Franche-Comté. L’essaimage, défini comme une façon d’enquêter pour agir, caractérise un « activisme environnemental du faire » qui se structure de manière réticulaire et translocale. Ces multiples initiatives qui font des gestes du quotidien un levier de transformation écologique s’activent avec ou sans les institutions territoriales. Celles-ci, indépendamment de l’écho qu’elles renvoient à ces expérimentations, sont interpellées dans leur manière de concevoir l’action publique sous contrainte écologique forte.
Suppression of capillary wave broadening of interfaces in binary alloys due to elastic interactions.

By Monte Carlo simulations in the constant-temperature--constant-pressure ensemble a planar interface between unmixed A-rich and B-rich phases of a binary (A, B) alloy on a compressible diamond lattice is studied. No significant capillary wave broadening of the concentration profile across the interface is observed, unlike lattice models of incompressible mixtures and fluids. The distortion of the lattice structure across the interface is studied.
Impaired semantic processing during sentence reading in children with dyslexia: combined fMRI and ERP evidence

Developmental dyslexia is a specific disorder of reading acquisition characterized by a phonological core deficit. Sentence reading is also impaired in dyslexic readers, but whether semantic processing deficits contribute is unclear. Combining spatially and temporally sensitive neuroimaging techniques to focus on semantic processing can provide a more comprehensive characterization of sentence reading in dyslexia.
