Tensile behaviour of patch-repaired CFRP laminates
2011
The present study examines the tensile behaviour of composite structures repaired by bonding external patches. Various patches of different stacking sequences placed on both sides of the parent plate were considered. Damage development and the failure process of the repaired plates were analyzed and a parent plate fracture model has been proposed. Optimised patch repairs were calculated by finite element modelling. It was found that high stress concentration along the longitudinal edges of circular patches and/or at the transverse edges of the hole leads to early damage initiation in the parent plate. However, the position of damage initiation and the process of damage progression depend pa…
Control of catalytic properties of ZSM-5 made by fast and template- free synthesis.
1989
Abstract The fast template-free synthesis of ZSM-5 was accomplished in both static and stirred autoclaves employing sodiumwaterglass.silica hydrogel and pyrogenic silicas as silica sources. Highly pure crystalline ZSM-5 was obtained in the sodiumwaterglass reaction system in the stirred autoclaves without seeds within 3 hours. Addition of 2% (w/w) of seeds reduced the reaction time to 2 hours. The catalytic activity and shape selectivity of the H-ZSM-5, tested by the disproportionation of ethylbenzene, was found to be largely controlled by the synthesis parameters and by the posttreatments. The homogeneous aluminum distribution across the crystals achieved by this synthetis route resulted i…
Research Regarding the Influence of Raw Material and Knitted Fabric Geometry on the Tensile Strength and Breaking Elongation
2016
Abstract The main purpose of this research paper is to increase the performance of knitting process during socks manufacturing by choosing the right knitted fabric geometry and raw material. On the other side, tests results show the wear resistance regarding mechanical properties like tensile strength and breaking elongation of knitted fabrics for socks. To obtain samples knitted fabric were used several types of some classic yarns, which already use to obtain socks organic also another type of yarns less used: cotton, organic cotton, bamboo viscose, soy + cotton, Tencel. From these yarns the following knitted fabric geometry were obtained: plated single jersey, plated ribb 4:2 and plated p…
Two multilayered plate models with transverse shear warping functions issued from three dimensional elasticity equations
2014
Abstract A multilayered plate theory which uses transverse shear warping functions is presented. Two methods to obtain the transverse shear warping functions from three-dimensional elasticity equations are proposed. The warping functions are issued from the variations of transverse shear stresses computed at specific points of a simply supported plate. The first method considers an exact 3D solution of the problem. The second method uses the solution provided by the model itself: the transverse shear stresses are computed integrating equilibrium equations. Hence, an iterative process is applied, the model is updated with the new warping functions, and so on. Once the sets of warping functio…
Template-Free Supracolloidal Self-Assembly of Atomically Precise Gold Nanoclusters : From 2D Colloidal Crystals to Spherical Capsids
2016
We report supracolloidal self-assembly of atomically precise and strictly monodisperse gold nanoclusters involving p-mercaptobenzoic acid ligands (Au102-pMBA44) under aqueous conditions into hexagonally packed monolayer-thick two-dimensional facetted colloidal crystals (thickness 2.7 nm) and their bending to closed shells leading to spherical capsids (d ca. 200 nm), as controlled by solvent conditions. The 2D colloidal assembly is driven in template-free manner by the spontaneous patchiness of the pMBA ligands around the Au102-pMBA44 nanoclusters preferably towards equatorial plane, thus promoting inter-nanocluster hydrogen bonds and high packing to planar sheets. More generally, the findin…
Traitement chirurgical des fractures du condyle mandibulaire de l'adulte en France en 2005
2007
Summary Introduction The authors had for aim to present the latest trends in the surgical management of mandibular condylar fractures in France, in 2005. Material and methods One hundred maxillofacial surgeons were questioned on the surgical management of condylar fractures and indications. Results were presented at the 41st Congress of Stomatology and Maxillofacial surgery. Results The overall reply rate was 70%. Condylar fractures are generally managed in teaching hospitals. Open reduction and fixation was deemed appropriate in low subcondylar fractures in 76% of the cases, in 10% for diacapitular fractures. Therapeutic details and indications were a matter of huge variability. Discussion…

A four-node MITC finite element for magneto-electro-elastic multilayered plates
2013
An isoparametric four-node finite element for multilayered magneto-electro-elastic plates analysis is presented. It is based on an equivalent single-layer model, which assumes the first order shear deformation theory and quasi-static behavior for the electric and magnetic fields. First, the electro-magnetic state of the plate is determined in terms of the mechanical primary variables, namely the generalized displacements, by solving the strong form of the magneto-electric governing equations coupled with the electro-magnetic interface continuity conditions and the external boundary conditions. In turn, this result is used into the layers constitutive law to infer the equivalent single-layer…
A finite element formulation for large deflection of multilayered magneto-electro-elastic plates
2014
An original finite element formulation for the analysis of large deflections in magneto-electro-elastic multilayered plates is presented. The formulation is based on an equivalent single-layer model in which first order shear deformation theory with von Karman strains and quasi-static behavior for the electric and magnetic fields are assumed. To obtain the plate model, the electro-magnetic state is firstly determined and condensed to the mechanical primary variables, namely the generalized displacements. In turn, this result is used to obtain laminate effective stiffness coefficients that allow to express the plate mechanical stress resultants in terms of the generalized displacements and a…
Dynamics of CXC group chemokine platelet factor 4 (PF4) plasma levels in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
2012
CXC chemokines display pleiotropic effects participating not only in inflammation, but regulating angiogenesis and metastatic spread in cancer. Platelet factor 4 (PF4) is a 70-amino acid protein belonging to the CXC chemokine family. PF4 is also known as CXCL4. This chemokine is released from alpha-granules of activated platelets and binds with high affinity to heparin-like molecules promoting coagulation. Megakaryocytes respond to the presence of tumors by increasing their number in the bone marrow accompanied by increase in the number of platelets in circulation, causing changes in chemokine balance.
