Object Classification Technique for mmWave FMCW Radars using Range-FFT Features

2021

In this article, we present a novel target classification technique by mmWave frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) Radars using the Machine Learning on raw data features obtained from range fast Fourier transform (FFT) plot. FFT plots are extracted from the measured raw data obtained with a Radar operating in the frequency range of 77- 81 GHz. The features such as peak, width, area, standard deviation, and range on range FFT plot peaks are extracted and fed to a machine learning model. Two light weight classification models such as Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes are explored to assess the performance. Based on the results, we demonstrate and achieve an accuracy of 86.9% using Logist…

HLA genotype in patients with acquired haemophilia A

2010

Acquired haemophilia A (AH) is a rare bleeding disorder caused by an auto-antibody to coagulation factor VIII. It is associated with various autoimmune diseases, pregnancy, cancer or drug ingestion; however, in 50% of patients, no underlying disorder is found. In the present study, we investigated the association of HLA class I (A, B and Cw) and class II (DRB1 and DQB1) alleles with AH in a cohort of 57 patients. While no association with any class I allele was detected, a significantly higher frequency of DRB1*16 [odds ratio (OR) 10.2, 95%CI: 5.32-19.57, P < 0.0001] and DQB1*0502 (OR 2.2, 95%CI: 1.12-4.54, P < 0.05) was observed. In contrast, the frequency of DRB1*15 and DQB1*0602 alleles …

Product Placement in Video Games as a Marketing Strategy: An Attempt to Analysis in Disney Company

2011

What is the best marketing strategy in video games? The literature is not unanimous in upholding the best strategy. Researchers investigating advertising effectiveness disagree on the value of product placement in video games and the methods firms should use with product placement strategies. The state of the question now must figure out the dichotomy between two perspectives: to identify the differences in the effectiveness of product placement in video games when using “traditional placement approaches” compared to the “branded entertainment approach”. The “traditional approach” to product placement in video games involves the product appearing as a visual object that is passive, used by …

Role of genetic polymorphisms in myocardial infarction at young age

2010

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in young adult presents a typical pattern of risk factors, clinical, angiographic and prognostic characteristics. In the last years we demonstrated that hemorheological profile is altered in these patients in a persistent way and independently of the number of risk factors and of the extent of coronary lesions. Thus, the hyperviscosity syndrome following AMI could be considered an intrinsic characteristic of these patients. Consequently it is possible to hypothesise the presence of a genetic background at the origin of this predisposition. If this background is able to influence the risk of ischemic heart disease, this should be particularly evident in youn…

Use of DIAGNOdent and VistaProof in diagnostic of Pre-Cavitated Caries Lesions—A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

2019

Objective: To analyse the published evidence of the validity of DIAGNDOdent and VistaProof in diagnosing carious depths in pre-cavitated lesions. Material and methods: A systematic review was carried out after identifying a total of 184 articles, including 27 concerning the qualitative review and a subsequent meta-analysis. The quality of the studies was evaluated by using the QUADAS-2 tool. Results: For DIAGNOdent, the sensitivity value was 0.77, the specificity value was 0.75 and AUC was 0.81 for the global meta-analyses. In relation to subgroups, the values estimated 0.85, 0.76 and 0.86, respectively, for the in vivo group and 0.71, 0.75 and 0.83 for the in vitro group. For VistaProof, s…

An approximate theoretical impedance analysis of the anodic dissolution of nickel across nickel(II) stabilised by means of competitive anions

2007

Abstract A theoretical impedance function for the anodic dissolution of nickel is developed by considering the hypothesis that there are two competitive anions which participate in the stabilization of the electrogenerated Ni(II) species. The experimental effect of chloride ion concentration on nickel electrodissolution process is analyzed by means of a mechanism that considers this competency. It is observed that an increased Cl − concentration causes an increase in Ni(I) surface concentration and a decrease in the kinetic constant rates of the considered mechanism. Moreover, an increased chloride concentration causes a flattening in the low frequencies inductive loop in the Nyquist plot r…

Mimonoside D: a new triterpenoid saponin from Mimosa diplotricha Sauvalle (Fabaceae)

2021

A new triterpenoid saponin (Mimonoside D: 3-O--L-arabinopyranosyl-3-hydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid 28-O--D-xylopyranosyl-(12)--D- glucopyranoside ester (1)) was isolated from the aerial parts of Mimosa diplotricha Sauvalle together with nine known compounds: 7,4-dihydroxyflavone (2), kaempferol (3), lupeol (4), betulinic acid (5), -sitosterol (6), -sitosterol-3-O--D-glucopyranoside (7), lutein (8), 5,2-dihydroxy-7,4,5-trimethoxyflavone (9) and vitexin (10). Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic (1 D and 2 D nuclear magnetic resonance) and high-resolution mass spectrometric data as well as by comparison of their spectral data with those o…

Regulatory Changes in Pterin and Carotenoid Genes Underlie Balanced Color Polymorphisms in the Wall Lizard

2018

ABSTRACTReptiles use pterin and carotenoid pigments to produce yellow, orange, and red colors. These conspicuous colors serve a diversity of signaling functions, but their molecular basis remains unresolved. Here, we show that the genomes of sympatric color morphs of the European common wall lizard, which differ in orange and yellow pigmentation and in their ecology and behavior, are virtually undifferentiated. Genetic differences are restricted to two small regulatory regions, near genes associated with pterin (SPR) and carotenoid metabolism (BCO2), demonstrating that a core gene in the housekeeping pathway of pterin biosynthesis has been co-opted for bright coloration in reptiles and indi…

1978

A newly designed automatically controlled stirred reactor suitable for kinetic measurements of reactions with half lives ≥2s has been applied to follow the anionic polymerization of methyl methacrylate in THF with Na+ as a counter ion in the presence of an excess of NaB(C6H5)4. As initiators were used: benzylsodium reacted with α-methylstyrene (I), fluorenylsodium (II), and 9-methylfluorenylsodium (III). With I the initiation is fast as compared with the polymerization reaction which is first order in monomer concentration. Within the range of −50°C to −100°C an almost unperturbed “living” polymerization is observed. The Arrhenius plot of the rate constants results in a straight line with a…
