The "Cooperative Airborne Radiometer for Ocean and Land Studies" (CAROLS) L-Band radiometer was designed and built as a copy of the EMIRAD II radiometer constructed by the Technical University of Denmark team. It is a fully polarimetric and direct sampling correlation radiometer. It is installed on board a dedicated French ATR42 research aircraft, in conjunction with other airborne instruments (C-Band scatterometer--STORM, the GOLD-RTR GPS system, the infrared CIMEL radiometer and a visible wavelength camera). ABSTRACT Several homeobox genes are expressed in the sea urchin embryo but their roles in development have yet to be elucidated. Of particular interest are homologues of homeobox genes that in mouse and Drosophila are involved in patterning the developing central nervous system (CNS). Here, we report the cloning of an orthopedia (Otp)-related gene from Paracentrotus lividus, PlOtp. Otp is a single copy zygotic gene that presents a unique and highly restricted expression pattern. Two new hits of triazolyl-indole containing two different alkylsulfanyl analogues named tert-butyl 2-((4-amino-5-(1H-indol-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetate 2, and ethyl 2-((4-amino-5-(1H-indol-2-yl)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)thio)acetate 3 were synthesized via reaction of 4-amino-5-(1H-indol-2-yl)-1,2,4-triazol-3(2H)-thione 1 with tert-butyl bromoacetate and ethyl chloroacetate in the presence of base (Et3N). Searching for signatures around 1920 MeV of a N-* state of three hadron nature

We provide a series of arguments which support the idea that the peak seen in the gamma p -> K+ Lambda reaction around 1920 MeV should correspond to the recently predicted state of J(P) = 1/2(+) as a bound state of K(K) over bar N with a mixture of alpha(0)(980)N and f(0)(980)N components. At the same time we propose polarization experiments in that reaction as a further test of the prediction, as well as a study of the total cross-section for gamma p -> K(+)K(-)p at energies close to threshold and of d sigma/dM(inv) for invariant masses close to the two-kaon threshold.

Azobenzolu saturošs molekulārais stikls kā optiskā ieraksta materiāls

Šajā darbā tika pētīti fotoinducētie procesi azobenzolu saturošā molekulārā stiklā ar nosaukumu K-RJ-8, sintezēts Rīgas Tehniskajā universitātē. Azobenzolu saturošiem savienojumiem raksturīga optiski ierosināma izomerizācija. Šī procesa laikā molekulas var tikt orientētas attiecībā pret ierosinošās gaismas polarizāciju. Rezultātā materiālā rodas anizotropija, kas izpaužas kā dihroisms un dubultlaušana, kā arī var tikt novērota makroskopiska masas pārbīde. Azobenzolu saturošos molekulāros stiklos orientēšanās un materiāla pārvietošanās tiek atvieglota, jo daļiņu ģeometriskā forma kavē kristalizācijas procesus.
