Librino è uno dei quartieri della periferia di Catania tra i più degradati, in cui si stratificano da anni realtà caratterizzate da un diffuso disagio economico e sociale e da un alto tasso di delinquenza. Il disegno del quartiere è stato redatto nel 1970 da Kenzo Tange, ma gran parte di esso non è stata realizzata. Dal 2002 questo insediamento è stato luogo di un progetto che, a partire da una diffusa domanda di riscatto sociale dei residenti, ha puntato sull’arte per attivare processi di riqualificazione sociale e urbana. Tra il 1949 e il 1956 il Piano Ina Casa interessa molte aree periferiche palermitane, in particolare quelle prossime alla costruenda circonvallazione, in seguito individuate come ambiti di espansione dal Piano regolatore del 1962. Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between automated achromatic perimetry (AAP) and the output of two retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) analysers: scanning laser polarimetry (GDx-VCC) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods: Quantitative RNFL measurements with GDx-VCC and Stratus-OCT were obtained in one eye from 52 healthy subjects, 38 ocular hypertensive (OHT) patients and 94 glaucomatous patients. All patients underwent a complete examination, including AAP using the Swedish interactive threshold algorithm (SITA). The types of instability in the interacting binary stars are briefly reviewed. The project “Inter-Longitude Astronomy” is a series of smaller projects on concrete stars or groups of stars. It has no special funds, and is supported from resources and grants of participating organizations, when informal working groups are created. This “ILA” project is in some kind similar and complementary to other projects like WET, CBA, UkrVO, VSOLJ, BRNO, MEDUZA, AstroStatistics, where many of us collaborate. Pintaplasmonipolaritonit (SPP) ovat metallin ja dielektrisen aineen, esim. ilma, rajapintaan syntyviä sähkömagneettisia aaltoja. Tämä työ käsittelee SPP:en ja molekyylien välistä vuorovaikutusta vahvan kytkennän rajalla. Vahvan kytkennän rajalla systeemin energiatilat muodostavat uusia hybriditiloja. Apparent and quantitative loss of fatty acids and triacylglycerols at frying temperatures

[EN]: Olive and sunflower oils were heated at 180 °C for 5, 10 and 15 hours with the aim of defining the changes in the contents of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) and triacylglycerols (TAG) under frying conditions. Differences between apparent and real loss of FAME or TAG are defined for an adequate interpretation of the changes taking place at high temperature. Such differences depend on the expression of the results and frequently result in erroneous conclusions. Results showed that from the normalized composition it could be deduced that only the most unsaturated FAME (C18:2) or TAG containing it was significantly altered. Abstract. Dehydration in the Antarctic winter stratosphere is a well-known phenomenon that is annually observed by satellites and occasionally observed by balloon-borne measurements. However, in situ measurements of dehydrated air masses in the Antarctic vortex are very rare. Here, we present detailed observations with the in situ and GLORIA remote sensing instrument payload aboard the German aircraft HALO. Strongly dehydrated air masses down to 1.6 ppmv of water vapor were observed as far north as 47° S in an altitude between 12 and 13 km in the lowermost stratosphere. Se encontro un deterioro perimetrico en indices y escotomas. En concordancia, los parametros de retardo de la capa de fibras nerviosas de la retina y los mapas cambiaron en un analisis serial avanzado con GDx VCC en los dos ojos.
