Coxsackievirus B (CVB) enteroviruses are common pathogens that can cause acute and chronic myocarditis, dilated cardiomyopathy, aseptic meningitis, and they are hypothesized to be a causal factor in type 1 diabetes. The licensed enterovirus vaccines and those currently in clinical development are traditional inactivated or live attenuated vaccines. Even though these vaccines work well in the prevention of enterovirus diseases, new vaccine technologies, like virus-like particles (VLPs), can offer important advantages in the manufacturing and epitope engineering. Background The choice of non-typeable Haemophilus influenzae Protein D as main carrier protein in the candidate 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PHiD-CV, GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals), was driven in part to avoid carrier-mediated suppression and possible bystander interference with coadministered vaccines. [EN] In this paper the strategic use of innovation by two polluting firms to influence environ-mental policy is evaluated. The analysis is carried out by comparing two alternative policy regimes for two policy instruments: Taxes and standards. The first of the regimes assumes that the regulator commits to an ex-ante level of the policy instrument. In the second one, there is no commitment. The results show that when there is no commitment and a tax is used to control emissions, the strategic behavior of firms can be welfare improving if the efficiency of the clean technology is relatively low. Przedstawiono wyniki badań właściwości reologicznych wybranych gatunków polietylenów małej i dużej gęstości oraz otrzymanych z nich wosków. Na podstawie wyznaczonych dla nich zależności lepkości od temperatury wyznaczono energie aktywacji przepływu lepkiego tych polimerów. W celu wyjaśnienia zależności wyznaczonego parametru od właściwości tworzywa wykonano również analizy masy cząsteczkowej i dyspersyjności oraz struktury makrocząsteczek, głównie stopnia rozgałęzienia, zarówno polietylenów, jak i wosków. Uzyskane wyniki pozwoliły na ocenę właściwości przetwórczych wytypowanych tworzyw.

After a birth dose of acellular pertussis (aP) and diphtheria (DT)aP-hepatitis B virus (HBV)-inactivated polio vaccine (IPV)/ Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib) at 2, 4, and 6 months, a booster dose of DTaP-HBV-IPV/Hib at 12 to 23 months induced strong anti-pertussis booster responses. Thus, neonatal aP priming did not lead to immune tolerance to pertussis antigens. However, it elicited bystander interference on HBV, Hib, and diphtheria responses.

El monopolio real del tabaco fue decretado sólo para la Corona de Castilla en 1636. Debido a su reconocida eficacia, los gobernantes españoles intentaron implantarlo allá donde fuese políticamente posible.
