Learning IFRS through MOOC: student and graduate perceptions
2021
This paper provides an overview of the perceptions held by 623 Colombian students and graduates regarding the learning of IFRS through a MOOC. Data was collected through an online survey and the re...
pH and supporting electrolyte concentration effects on the passive transport of cationic and anionic drugs through fixed charge membranes
1999
Abstract The effects of pH and supporting electrolyte concentration on the passive transport of an ionized (cationic or anionic) drug through a thick fixed charge membrane have been theoretically studied. This system constitutes a simplified model for the pH controlled ion transport and drug delivery through membranes of biological and pharmaceutical interest. Calculations were carried out for different values of the membrane fixed charge, supporting electrolyte and drug concentrations covering a broad range of the conditions usually found in experiments. The theoretical approach employed is based on the Nernst–Planck flux equations, and all of the species present in the system (the neutral…
Ultracytochemical localization of Ca2(+)-ATPase activity in the middle ear mucosa of the guinea pig.
1989
Ca2(+)-ATPase activity was studied ultra-cytochemically in the middle ear mucosa of the guinea pig. On electron microscopic examination, the most intense reaction was found on the microvilli. Reaction products were also observed on the cilia and around and between the secretory granules on the apical side of the cells in their secretory phase. The basolateral membranes contained few reaction products, while very little or no activity was found on the basal membrane.
CuZnSnSe NANOTUBES AND NANOWIRES BY TEMPLATE ELECTROSYNTHESIS
2014
In this work we present some results of an extensive investigation aimed to find suitable conditions to grow CuZnSnSe (CZTSe) nanostructures through single-step electrodeposition into the channels of polycarbonate membranes. After the optimization of several electrodeposition parameters, we have found that pulsed current deposition, between 0 and -1 mA cm-2, is the best way to obtain CZTSe nanostructures mechanically attached to the support. An interesting result concerns the effect of supporting electrolyte in the deposition bath. In fact, changing its concentration it is possible to vary morphology of nanostructures from nanotubes to nanowires. In both case uniform arrays of ordered nanos…
INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL REPORTING PRACTICES IN THE NON-PROFIT SECTOR
2011
Chapter 2. A critical analysis of the main scorecard models for measuring and reporting IC in the non-profit sector The book focuses on Intellectual Capital (IC) reporting practices within the non-profit sector. This term is an umbrella term, which includes not only the non-profit (or third) sector in strict terms but also all sectors different from the for-profit sector. Nowadays, in a knowledge-based economy, knowledge is critical to for-profit organizations as it is to non-profit organizations (NPOs). In a new competitive environment, NPOs are requested to manage the existing resources efficiently and effectively and to create, maintain and develop new resources based on knowledge. In th…

Determination of charge carrier mobility of hole transporting polytriarylamine-based diodes
2010
Hole transport properties of three different side chain poly(triarylamines) have been determined by means of the analysis of steady-state current-voltage characteristics using co-planar diode structures. The interpretation is based on space-charge limited models with field-dependent mobility. Mobilities between ~ 10- 8 and 10- 6 cm2 V- 1 s- 1 are obtained. The highest mobility is achieved for poly(tetraphenylbenzidine) devices and the lowest for poly(triphenylamine) devices. Electron-rich methoxy substituents increase the mobility of poly(triphenylamine)s. A comparison of the mobility values with those obtained using organic field-effect transistors is also given. © 2009 Elsevier B.V. All r…
Interlingual translation of the International Financial Reporting Standards as institutional work
2017
The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) have been widely adopted well beyond English-speaking jurisdictions. Using the Finnish translation of the IFRS as a primary object of investigation, this article analyses the way in which the standards are translated into another language. Drawing on interviews with translators and translation review committee members and on an analysis of archival materials, it provides an empirically grounded understanding of practical problems of linguistic equivalence, and the institutional work required to maintain the IFRS as a global, translingual institution. Accordingly, the article highlights the constructed and negotiated nature of the lingui…
A bibliometric analysis of the literature on non-financial information reporting: Review of the research and network visualization
2022
[EN] This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of articles on the topic of non-financial information (NFI) reporting. The exponential growth over the last decade (90% of the articles were published in the last 10 years) indicates the relevance of the topic, but little is known about the structure and extent of research in this academic field. The purpose of this article is to provide a structured and up-to-date picture of the state of the art on the topic. We analyse the most relevant articles, authors, journals, countries and organizations. The analysis includes 3113 articles, collected from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection from 1970 —when the first two articles on the topic were…
