Geographies of markets: Materials, morals and monsters in motion

Approaching processes of capitalist market exchange from a cultural economic perspective, we identify three strands of research that are all part of a widespread ‘pragmatic turn’ in the study of economic activities: (1) the conceptualization of markets as heterogeneous arrangements of people, things and sociotechnical devices; (2) the insight that multiple frames of reference are mobilized in everyday market activities in addition to instrumental rationality; and (3) approaches that combine an interest in the performance of diversity and difference in concrete market contexts with an attention to mobility in network capitalism.

Some lasers have demonstrated to provide effective disinfection when used as adjunctive device to the conventional treatment. The aim of this in vitro study was to determine the effectiveness of the erbium, chromium:yttrium scandium gallium garnet (Er, Cr:YSGG) laser by measuring its bactericidal effect inside the root canal experimentally colonized with Enterococcus faecalis. The laser was tested at different irradiation times (30 and 60 s) and energy of impulses (75 and 25 mJ). Abstract We study the existence and the continuity properties of the boundary values on the real axis of the resolvent of a self-adjoint operator H in the framework of the conjugate operator method initiated by Mourre. We allow the conjugate operator A to be the generator of a C 0 -semigroup (finer estimates require A to be maximal symmetric) and we consider situations where the first commutator [ H ,i A ] is not comparable to H . The applications include the spectral theory of zero mass quantum field models.

The structural and spectroscopic properties of a new copper (II) complex of cinoxacin (HCx) have been investigated. The complex [Cu(Cx)2].2H2O crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c. The cell dimensions are: a = 7.998(2), b = 7.622(1), c = 18.955(6) A, beta = 94.38(2) degree, V = 1154.6(6) A3, Z = 2. The structure was refined to R = 0.051. The crystal is composed of [Cu(Cx)2] units and uncoordinated water molecules. The Cu(II) ion, at a center of symmetry, is coordinated to two cinoxacinate (Cx) ligands related by the inversion center. Multi-site analytical evaluation of a chemiluminescent magnetic microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for sirolimus on the Abbott ARCHITECT analyzer.

Objective This study evaluated a new chemiluminescent magnetic microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for sirolimus on the ARCHITECT analyzer. Design and methods Patient and laboratory proficiency samples were tested at three European sites and one site in the United States. Results The CMIA total %CV's were all < 8% and the Limit of Quantification (LOQ) was < 1.52 ng/mL across the four sites. It cross-reacts to sirolimus metabolites F4 and F5 and showed no hematocrit interference over a range of 25% to 55%. Patient specimen correlations to three LC/MS/MS methods gave R ≥ 0.91 at three sites and mean biases of 14%, 25% and 39%. CMIA patient specimen correlations to the Abbott IMx gave R ≥ 0.94 at…

In the last decades a wide range of algorithms have been devoted to recognize 3D free-from objects under real conditions such as occlusions, clutters, rotation, scale and translation. Spin image is one of these algorithms known to be robust to rotation, translation, occlusions up to 70% and clutters up to 60%, but still suffer from scaling, resolution changes and it is time consuming. PURPOSE To assess spleen segmentation and volumentry in spiral CT scans with and without pathological changes of splenic tissue. METHODS The image analysis software HYBRIKON is based on region growing, self-organized neural nets, and fuzzy-anatomic rules. The neural nets were trained with spiral CT data from 10 patients, not used in the following evaluation on spiral CT scans from 19 patients. An experienced radiologist verified the results. We analyzed the impact of superantigens secreted by skin-colonizing Staphylococci on the skin and the associated lymphoid tissue following epicutaneous application and intracutaneous injection of small amounts of staphylococcal enterotoxin B (SEB). A single intracutaneous injection of 50 ng of SEB elicited a strong inflammatory response in the skin of BALB/c mice.
