Opakowania z biotworzyw –przyszłość? Czy w przyszłości nowy problem środowiskowy?

Problem odpadów opakowaniowych z tworzyw sztucznych wciąż wymaga poszukiwania skutecznych rozwiązań. W artykule przedstawiono wytyczne Komisji Europejskie z marca 2019 roku w zakresie działań ograniczających składowanie zużytych opakowań na wysypiskach śmieci. Najwięcej uwagi poświęcono biotworzywom, stosowanym w produkcji opakowań, które -zgodnie z zapewnieniami ich producentów –mogą być składowane z odpadami organicznymi i ulegać wraz z nimi procesom biodegradacji lub kompostowania. Carbohydrates as Chemical Constituents of Biowaste Composts and their Humic and Fulvic Acids

The decomposition of organic matter of source-separated biowaste during composting was followed during 18 months. Compost samples were fractionated into three parts: (i) hot water soluble extract (HWE) (ii) bitumen fraction and (iii) humic substances (humic acids (HA) and fulvic acids (FA)). Phenolic compounds are secondary metabolites involved in different protection mechanisms as, for example, against grazers, epiphytes and UV radiation. Seasonal variations of phenolic content in C. amentacea were analysed and laboratory experiments, in which C. amentacea was exposed to an increase of temperature (258C and 308C), were performed. Total phenolic content (TPC) was determined colorimetrically with the Folin–Ciocalteu reagent. In C. amentacea, a seasonal pattern in TPC was observed, with a maximum value in winter-spring. C. amentacea responded significantly to the temperature treatments with a consistent decrease in TPC after 48 h.

The article shows results of monitoring of a Sicilian composting plant (southern Italy). In particular, the biological stability of the organic fraction of municipal solid wastes has been monitored. Two experimental periods have been carried out: (1) plant start-up and (2) first operation period. The biological stability has been evaluated throughout the dynamic respiration index (DRI). A lo largo de casi dos décadas se ha estado analizando el papel de los helmintos del ratón de campo, Apodemus sylvaticus, como bioindicadores del proceso de regeneración postincendio en el ecosistema de bosque mediterráneo del Parc Natural de la Serra Calderona, entre las provincias de Castelló y València. Formando parte de este proyecto multidisciplinar, se analiza la influencia de factores intrínsecos y extrínsecos sobre la evolución postincendio de las 10 especies componentes de la comunidad helmintiana del ratón de campo, 18 años después del incendio forestal. Epilepsy is a common brain disorder that causes patients to face multiple seizures in a single day. Around 65 million people are affected by epilepsy worldwide. Patients with focal epilepsy can be treated with surgery, whereas generalized epileptic seizures can be managed with medications. It has been noted that in more than 30% of cases, these medications fail to control epileptic seizures, resulting in accidents and limiting the patient’s life.
