The vibrational levels of methane obtained from analyses of high-resolution spectra

International audience; Methane and its tetrahedral isotopologues are spherical-top molecules whose high-resolution rovibrational spectra can only be analyzed in detail, thanks to sophisticated symmetry-adapted tensorial models. However, the effective Hamiltonian parameters of such models do not give direct access to the positions of the vibrational sublevels. Control of irregular cardiac rhythm

International audience; The aim of this work is to investigate the chaos control of the one di- mensional map which modelizes the duration of the current cardiac action potential (APD) as a function of the previous one. Using OGY control method, we obtain very satisfactory numerical results to stabilize the irregular heart rhythm into the normal rhythm.

The immature cerebral cortex self-organizes into local neuronal clusters long before it is activated by patterned sensory inputs. In the cortical anlage of newborn mammals, neurons coassemble through electrical or chemical synapses either spontaneously or by activation of transmitter-gated receptors. The neuronal network and the cellular mechanisms underlying this cortical self-organization process during early development are not completely understood. The relation between neuronal chloride transporter activities, GABA inhibition, and neuronal activity

Abstract The intracellular chloride concentration [Cl−]i in neurons is regulated by a set of transmembrane transporters, with the Cl−-loader NKCC1 and the Cl−-extruder KCC2 as most relevant members. The expression of these transporters is tightly regulated, with the general trend that KCC2 expression is low in immature neurons, which are thus characterized by a high [Cl−]i. As [Cl−]i is the main factor determining the polarity of GABAergic responses, such a high [Cl−]i is related to depolarizing GABAergic responses. Rhythmic variations in reaction times and evoked potentials

The present work aimed to assess the existence of a regular ultradian cyclicity underlying the variations in amplitude of the N1-P2 component of acoustic EP during a relatively long recording session and investigate its relationship with behavioral measure as RT to the same stimulus. 128 tones were presented to each subject; 128 RTs and the associated EPs to target stimuli were recorded. N1-P2 amplitude has been measured at a single trial level through Woody adaptive filter modified by Wastell. Agricultural water requirement in arid and semi-arid environments represents an important fraction of the total water consumption, suggesting the need of appropriate water management practices to sparingly use the resource. Furthermore the quality and quantity of some crops products, such as grape, is improved under a controlled amount of water stress. The paper analyzes the performance of Hydrus-2D model to simulate the dynamic of soil water contents and transpiration fluxes in an olive orchard in which two different irrigation systems were used in 2011 and 2012. Acute effects of fluoxetine on inhibitory avoidance consolidation in male and female OF1 mice

The effects of acute administration of fluoxetine on memory consolidation using an inhibitory avoidance task were investigated in male and female OF1 mice. Several doses of this antidepressant (5, 10, and 20 mg/kg) were intraperitoneally administered immediately after the training session. The test session was carried out four days later and response latencies were measured in both sessions. The results showed that the highest dose of fluoxetine significantly increased response latencies of inhibitory avoidance compared with the lowest dose and the control group.
