We evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of the BNT162b2 vaccine in 52 patients with multiple myeloma (MM). Median age was 71.3 (range, 39.6-90.8) years. 26 (50%) patients had received active treatment including an immunomodulatory drug (IMiD) (n=21), an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody (n=11) and/or a proteasome inhibitor (n=4). 21 had received previous treatment interrupted at a median of 27.5 (range, 3.5-169.3) months before first vaccine inoculum. 5 patients had indolent untreated MM. 35 patients had a history of autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation (HSCT) performed at a median of 44.4 (range, 3.5-169.3) months before first vaccine inoculum. A defective function of the antigen-presenting cells may represent one of the ways used by cancer cells to escape the immune response. We have previously shown that human and rat colon carcinomas were infiltrated by dendritic cells that did not express the B7 co-stimulatory molecules required for inducing an efficient T-cell response. Application of the star-product method to the angular momentum quantization

We define a *-product on ℝ3 and solve the polarization equation f*C=0 where C is the Casimir of the coadjoint representation of SO(3). We compute the action of SO(3) on the space of solutions. We then examine the case of non-zero eigenvalues of C, in order to find finite-dimensional representations of SO(3). Finally, we compute \(\sqrt C *\sqrt C \) as an asymptotic series of C. This gives an explanation of the use of the star square root of C in a paper by Bayen et al. instead of its natural square root.

We prove for such an equation that there is a neighbourhood of zero in a Hilbert space of initial conditions for which the Cauchy problem has global solutions and on which there is asymptotic completeness. The inverse of the wave operator linearizes the non-linear equation. If, moreover, the equation is manifestly Poincare covariant then the non-linear representation of the Poincare Lie algebra, associated with the non-linear Klein-Gordon equation is integrated to a non-linear representation of the Poincare group on an invariant neighbourhood of zero in the Hilbert space. A large body of evidence has suggested that the natural biology for symptomatic cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) is dynamic. These lesions exhibit a temporal clustering epiphenomenon and usually manifest with multispectral clinical patterns, the most relevant being hemorrhagic and seizurogenic events. Most patients with cerebral cavernous malformations are asymptomatic, and the lesions are detected as incidentalomas. However, association with the CCM3 gene, Zabramski type I and II lesions, and brainstem location have the propensity to increase the bleeding events. Concentration-dependent T cell activation by different types of proteins

We investigated the concentration-dependent stimulation of T cells by different human proteins. Quantitative changes in the extent of activation, as well as qualitative changes within the type of activation, were measured. At low, physiological concentrations of extracellular human proteins (0.2 µg/ml), CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes were suppressed. In contrast, at high protein concentrations (2 mg/ml), CD4 T cells were suppressed, but we also observed a concurrent increase in the level of CD8 T cell activation. Requirements for Th1-dependent immunity against infection with Leishmania major

Protective immunity against cutaneous leishmaniasis is dependent on the induction of Th1/Tc1 immune responses resulting in efficient parasite elimination. In this review, the mechanisms leading to protection are discussed with special focus on the role of Leishmania major-infected dendritic cells (DC) in induction of Th1-dependent immunity. Murine strain-dependent differences between DC derived from Leishmania-susceptible as compared to resistant mice are highlighted.

Increasing evidence suggests that antibodies can have stimulatory effects on T-cell immunity. However, the contribution of circulating antigen-specific antibodies on MHC class I cross-priming in vivo has not been conclusively established. Here, we defined the role of circulating antibodies in cross-presentation of antigen to CD8(+) T cells.
