Background and aim: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is an independent risk factor for dyslipidemia. The current study examined the effects of positive airway pressure (PAP) treatment on lipid status in the European Sleep Apnea Database (ESADA). Methods: The prospective cohort study enrolled 1564 OSA subjects (74% male, mean age 54 ± 11y, body mass index (BMI) 32.7 ± 6.6 kg/m2 and apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) 40.3 ± 24.4 n/h) undergoing PAP therapy for at least three months (mean 377.6 ± 419.5 days). Darba mērķis bija izvērtēt optometriskās ārstēšanas ietekmi uz stājas izmaiņām. 11 pacientiem tika veikti mērījumi ar datorizētu stabilometrijas platformu pirms un pēc redzes treniņu veikšanas. Pacientam stāvot ar atvērtām acīm, pēc redzes treniņiem svara sadalījums bija sabalansētāks priekšēji-mugurējās ass virzienā, spiediena centrs nobīdījās tuvāk teorētiskajam centram, kā arī svārstību ātrums, amplitūda un laukums samazinājās. Abstract The use of high pressure processing (HPP) for development of stable emulsion-based delivery systems has been recently increased. Under adequate conditions, application of high pressures modifies the functionality of protein and polysaccharide molecules and significantly promotes the emulsifying activities. Application of high pressures also modulates the emulsion microstructure without any destabilization and gelation of protein molecules. We report in this paper on the complete structure determination of the modified nucleotide A*, now called Ar(p), that was previously identified in yeast methionine initiator tRNA as an isomeric form of O-ribosyl-adenosine bearing an additional phosphoryl-monoester group on its ribose2 moiety. The protein quality of three milk-cereal-based infant foods (paps) was evaluated by determining their amino acid contents and calculating the amino acid score. Proteins were subjected to acid hydrolysis, prior to which cysteine and methionine were oxidized with performic acid. Amino acids were determined by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection with a prior derivatization with 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate. Tryptophan was determined by reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection after basic hydrolysis.
