The parental bond, resistance to peer influence and risky driving in adolescence

The present study examined the relations between gender, the parental bond, resistance to peer influence, and risky driving. In particular, the mediating role of resistance to peer pressure in the relationship between parental bond and risky driving was examined. The moderating role of gender on these associations was also investigated. The sample comprised 322 adolescents (136 males and 186 females), aged from 16 to 20 years, who were living in northern Italy. Path analysis results showed that the maternal bond only indirectly influenced adolescents’ risky driving, via resistance to peer influence. Background: Drowning is a major public health issue, with risk increasing during times of flood. Driving into floodwater is a major risk factor for flood-related drowning and injury, and despite widespread public health campaigns, many people continue to undertake this risky behaviour and require rescue. W województwie opolskim od dawna obserwuje się niekorzystną sytuację demograficzną. Niskie wskaźniki dzietności oraz ujemne saldo migracji sprawiają, że Opolszczyzna harakteryzuje się jednym z najwyższych w kraju wskaźników depopulacji. Dostrzegając związane z tym zagrożenia samorządy województwa postanowiły wpłynąć na ich ograniczenie. Najwyższa Izba Kontroli zbadała1 działania podejmowane w Urzędzie Marszałkowskim Województwa Opolskiego, Urzędzie Miasta Opola oraz Urzędzie Miejskim w Nysie. Z ustaleń wynika, że możliwiły one poprawę warunków życia mieszkańców, jednak jak dotąd nie doprowadziły do odwrócenia negatywnych trendów demograficznych.

W artykule przedstawiono doświadczenia z realizacji Programu Promocji Bezpieczeństwa Cyfrowego w szkołach na terenie Opola. Prezentowany program został oparty na idei profilaktyki pozytywnej, stanowiąc pionierską próbę zaadaptowania koncepcji pozytywnego rozwoju przez organizację pozarządową. Prezentowany tekst zawiera opis, przebieg oraz refleksje wynikające z doświadczeń realizatorów działania. Artykuł zakończony jest implikacjami praktycznymi dla realizatorów podobnych przedsięwzięć w środowisku lokalnym.
